Yes, that is correct. I’m not saying detergents defy physics. If your fuel does not contact valves, it is true it cannot clean the valves.

Let me clarify my statement. Detergent in gasoline will clean everything it touches and leave it at that. Thanks for the clarification. ;)
I know nothing hahah but you are on point with the rings... the piston rings need the detergents big time like u said

West coast can't get 93 at all, we're stuck with 91. And Arizona, California, and Nevada get a version that's particularly shitty. I only use Chevron, but if I ever had to use something else, I'd look for a Shell, Mobil, or Sinclair...in that order. My gf says I'm a gasoline snob
SAME! I'm also in AZ and ONLY use Chevron, if forced to use something else, I'd look for a Shell or Mobil... our cars call for 93. since im stuck with 91 CHEVRON!

I saw a youtube video of some quarter mile comparisons. They didn't do so well without premium, but switched over and saw vast improvement. So I conclude the car will run fine on cheaper stuff, but if you are needing top performance, use the expensive stuff. For daily driving, it's not a big deal.
the car will run fine on lower grades (such as 91 vs 93) this thread is about not using "the cheaper stuff". by using cheap gas with bad detergents that you get from shady places, will give your car a tummy ache. At a baseline used the highest grade available to you. if you love your car find the places folks are talking about in this thread. I use Chevron not Circle K

Whats your opinion about Sunoco94 VS other top tier 93 octanes? I personally have alot of that option around me however I find it always marked up crazy, about a dollar give or take.. for the extra 1 octane... I have been trying justify the markup in my head but I just cant, so I stick with 93.

The 7-11/Sunoco on Howard and Morrison had 94 the last time I checked.
I went to that station yesterday. The pumps don't even show the 94 option. It goes up to 93. I guess you googled it? I thought you lived in Tampa. But then you clarified you were somewhere else S of Tally. I've googled other stations that supposedly carry 94 octane... but when I do a zoom at the google images, they don't. ☹

There is an app called "Find 93" that has been very helpful on road trips to find 93 and 94 octane. It's $4.99 one time charge on the App Store, well worth it.

I only use AKI 93 from either Shell V-Power NiTRO+, Chevron/TEXACO Supreme with TECHRON or Exxon Mobil Synergy Supreme+. But I prefer Shell when I available.

In the southeast we're blessed with top tier 93. I do a lot of high speed touring to the tune of over 30k in this car. My travels will take me to the land of 91 fuel. In comparison 91 sucks to the point I don't knowingly get into boost. I've read where your down like 30hp. Due to it pulling so much timing, on super hot days I've seen oil/water temps that I never see on 93. Other than that your GTG.

I stick with TopTier 93 in my sports cars. Exxon/Mobil would be my #1 with Shell #2. I have no problem using Chevron/Texaco or P66 either. BP and Sinclair 🦕 too, when up north.

Sunoco's premium sucks (also in the fuels industry here, and they're actually a customer of mine too). I'd take others' 93 over their 94.

Crappy additive package, despite their advertising. You'll note that they're not TopTier either. Sunoco is actually exiting the retail station market in a lot of regions and sold off to 7-11.

I've just put my first 93 Octane gasoline into my new 2025 Nissan Z Sport. I used Shell V-Power Nitro + Super Unleaded gasoline. I was told to use gasoline from either Shell or Chevron. I'll definitely be putting in 93 Octane but was told all 93 Octane isn't the same. It was $3.849 with my 5-cent per gallon discount. Any feedback k would be greatly appreciated. I heard Chevron Premium 93 Octane with Techron was also good.
i live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and always fill my Performance Z with 94 Octane from our local Esso. If I’m on the road, and they don’t have 94, I’ll us 93. I don’t like to go lower than that as you can definitely feel a difference if “you’re on it”.

Could you elaborate on this? I go out of my way to get Sunoco only. I thought it was the best fuel since many racers use it. I don't even remember where I read that...
