I noticed yesterday on the hood. I have a nice slit chip that went to the metal. Along with 6 or 7 chips on the hood. Looks like its base coat. Im disappointed with the metal showing on one of the chips 😥

Japanese car paint in general has always been pretty poor and thin. If you look at it wrong it will chip. I have 8k ( not daily driving ) miles on my car and 4 decent size chips in the front bumper, I just touch it up and forget about it. I only buy white cars so its very forgiving as far as noticing any paint defects.

I am having the opposite experience. The Z has way less rock chips than other sports cars I have had. 🤷‍♂️

My performance has the front chin spoiler and front fender extenders so maybe that is helping.
Was going to say this. My S550 Mustangs got chips if I looked at them funny. The Z hasn't gotten any. I've been thrilled about that. Fingers crossed 🤞

It really is surprising how badly advertised the Z was to the point people think it's all new and electric. too many screens and blah blah blah..... it's honestly one of the simplest modern cars you car buy as fare as modern gadgets etc goes. Which is why I like it
I laughed when one of the other posters above said they were asked if it was an electric. Then when I got my taxes done yesterday, my tax guy said, "I like your new car. Is it electric?"

Ugh.

I too was asked if it was electric at an import car show of all places. I did see three other Zs, yellow, white, and black.

I had a thing done today. I was on the fence but it's growing on me. I think the shop could have done a better job so I'm gonna try and tackle it myself--I hate confrontation and I don't think they're gonna be willing to redo it anyway, so lesson learned.

The objective was to minimize the huge billboard area underneath the headlights. IMO it needs a vent/grill or bodyline or something with some character instead of just a big, flat space. Extending the headlights downward reduces the vertical space. I was going to add black to the vertical line to make it look like a vent, but I'm unsure. I may add that at a later date.

Pic heavy:

If you squint just a tad it kind of looks like your car is blowing bubbles, especially the left one. I agree that some of these voids up front aren't cohesive. I've been meaning to mock up my front end with the lower portion blacked out but just inside the grill cavity. Something like this while blacking out the silver access in the upper grill mesh.

Lol!

It definitely needs something. I'm not sure what I did is the answer, but I had to try it and get a visual.

The legit answer (for me) is a Heritage bumper swap but I'm not ready to do that yet lol

If you do your blackouts, I'd love to see it!
