Picked up some suede Axis knee bolsters and was trying to recall if the center console needs to be pulled up to get after any screws holding the R/L sides or if there are just clipped on?

Replaced my hood stripes. One of them got a nick in it so i ordered a new set with the NISMO moniker. I was just going to replace that side. But the whole stripe is different, these are gloss and matt whereas the others were just straight matt.

I should have left them alone and lived with the blemish, it wasn't as noticeable as I thought it was going to be but I had already ordered the new stripes. One had a small crease in it and I didn't feel comfortable reselling incase the crease was noticeable once installed. (It wasn't, grrr)

Ok, so I installed them and you'd think it would be easy since I didn't replace the pinstripes. Reality was a different story.

One isn't centered quite as perfect as I like...I debated replacing the pinstripe....finally crumpled it up and threw it in the trash, that way I don't have to agonize over that decision. I AM my own worst enemy sometimes. Wife said it isn't even noticeable...she's either telling me the truth or she's a damn good liar to make me feel better lol.

I got one bubble I popped but I'm not sure the outline will go away. I'm just not going to stare at the stripes. From 5' away you can't see anything anyway.

I can't be the only one here with this problem!?!?! :ROFLMAO:

Oh I "extended" the stripe to visually see, I'm not sure how the hood bulge would affect the look but I think I dig it. Might revisit this idea later.

They look great, you're the only person that will ever notice. And in time you'll forget.

Thanks man. I need to leave them alone for a few days in the heat and let it work itself out, I'm just impatient lol

Thought I would spend the day with the Z. Did the Mishimoto catch can and cold air intake today. Catch can took right at 2 hours, CAI took 2 hours 40 minutes. Getting the intercooler off and on was by far the hardest part of these two jobs. Second most difficult part is tightening the worm clamps during install of the intake, especially the ones under the boxes due to lack of space to work.

My arm somehow knocked the high pressure A/C cap off and I never could find it after I heard it go "tink, tink tink". I literally pray to God it did not go straight down the intercooler pipe which was wide open at the time. I could not see anything in there but I'm also freaked out that I pulled off the undercover and still never found the cap!

Besides that issue I feel really good about the install and liked hanging with my Z.

The best piece of advice I can give is don't be in a hurry and make sure you have a couple of long pick tools available because they make getting the hoses and clamps done a lot easier, plus that ridiculous clip system that some engineer at Nissan decided to put underneath the stock intakes.

I watched several videos from different channels before doing these installs so I was prepared for all the hard parts. Mishimoto also has excellent step by step install videos for both products.

Does your butt dyno feel any difference with the CAI?

My car already had it installed when I got it so I'm just curious.

Also, I picked this up today at a swap meet, of all places.

love That!

I have not driven it yet, test drive later tonight. Taking a break to let Tylenol kick in and watch some Gator BB.

Ill let you know if I feel it!

Thanks!

I get it for sure, sometimes even after an oil change I just lay on my back on the garage floor and either wait for death, help, or the will to get up, whichever comes first πŸ˜†

Did several WOT throttle pulls, the car feels "snappier", there seems to be less of a delay in boost kicking in, it's noticeable to me for sure. Placebo effect maybe but I don't think so!

And the sound wow, even with the lids on the Mishimoto CAI increases the turbo sound quite a bit.

I did several pulls with a Scat Pack 6.2 (I think he said 6.2? I don't know a lot about those cars) and I beat him every time from a stop and 30-40mph pulls. We stopped and chatted and he said my car is FAST and it's the first Z he's seen in the wild. That's one of the things I love about this car.

Since my drivers side turbo did not blow up I guess the A/C cap went to that place where all the dropped 10mm sockets go that are never found again and not in the intercooler downpipe. I'm a happy guy tonight.
