Its most likely going to have the GR Yaris ECU (Or a slightly modified version of it), def won't be the Supra ECU as that's really a BMW Engine/ECUyou know i was thinking what would kill the hype for this if they send these out like the newer supras with the ecu Locked with no real way of tuning untill someone is able to unlock them
Assumed starting price was ~$37k, so 100% these will go for $50k+.The Launch edition may wind up being more expensive than a Z Sport. Carbon fibre roofs and dual LSDs don't come cheap.
Yeah, I see it being like the LE CTR as in some dealers may stick to their word of MSRP with no add-ons, but the majority will "adjust" the retail price pretty heavily. If somebody told me a few years ago that in a short while we'll see brand new Corollas and Civics sell for $50k and $70k, I would have thought they had lost it.Assumed starting price was ~$37k, so 100% these will go for $50k+.
Me, personally, I'd be ok with that.you know i was thinking what would kill the hype for this if they send these out like the newer supras with the ecu Locked with no real way of tuning untill someone is able to unlock them
Glad it's not just me. I literally did this when shopping for my truck. I refuse to fuss with aftermarket audio. It's $1000 to just replace a head unit when you get all the required wiring harnesses to keep your steering wheel controls and USB ports working.I'll even spend an extended amount of time auditioning the stereo in new vehicles because these days it's way more difficult to upgrade the stock stereo systems
Yeah Ive had that same feeling with my STI. I always mod my cars pretty heavily but Ive had concerns with the EJ and decided to hold off on any performance mods. Exactly why Ive been so interested in other platforms like this and the Z.Me, personally, I'd be ok with that.
I ruined my last 2 vehicles through modding and tuning. I need to buy something that is good as-is. It has caused me to be much more picky than I used to be. Join the club. Almost everyone here is starting eyeing other things lol.I dont care what anyone says, I love hot hatchbacks lol. I had a B series swapped EG civic hatch growing up and absolutely loved the little thing. Add more power + AWD and im interested. Dont think it looks awful either. The Z is a myth at this point so im eyeing other things haha.
Starting bottom of the hour in case anyone else wants to tune in
