Opening up a new thread for the V2 TruControl. Looks like someone on Reddit got one. No screen. Looks like a totally different chiptune manufacturer…

Go with a custom remote tune to match those sexy AMS pipes!

Interesting. I think I prefer the LED screen. Any indication in the thread what the changes are? Or just a change of chip vendor maybe?

Literally no clue. I saw it on a Reddit post and was like WAIT A MINUTE.

It's a real thing. I spoke with Stillen last week and was told about the pending V2 release announcement.
The only thing that I remember from the conversation is that it is supposed to be a "big upgrade/ advancement."
I am sure Kyle Millen will give us the details soon.

I wonder if they are trying to do extra stuff like the JB4 does? I have a feeling data logging probably comes with this new one. I’m happy with the V1 on my Nismo and I prefer the screen and the entire unit looks better than this one.

Kyle explained this is basically a hardware upgrade. No extra power, etc.

I am extremely disappointed that Stillen has discontinued their Bluetooth support for the V1.

You have to mail them in for any additional mods you do to your car.

Did he say anything about features such as data logging or the electronics being potted for better durability?
The previous version with the screen does look nicer. I really hope this is an upgrade....

Obviously Stillen will market the V2 as an upgrade to the original but without knowing any info, it sounds more like Stillen stopped licensing RaceChip hardware and software so they had to move to another platform…

I agree that I’m pretty bummed that they have really decided to limit support for the V1. No one wants to mail it back in for support and re-maps. I hope they consider an upgrade program for those of us with V1s if the new version is indeed an upgrade.

I wonder how RaceChip's tuning compares vs. Stillen's?

@KrackaC8 so I actually asked Stillen this question. They confirmed that the original TruControl is a RaceChip and uses their app (granted its white labeled version). I believe what they had is staff that obviously knew far more about the Z than RaceChip so they were able to make the maps more specific. Additionally, one of the biggest selling points was that they would remap on demand for you as you continued to mod your car thus why it’s now irritating that to get that support, you now have to mail it in. 🙄

Are the buttons on the module to change maps/settings outside of using the app?

I assume yes that the + and - buttons would move up and down the maps. No clue what the P button would do. I would MUCH rather use an app to change modes on the fly vs. having to get out of the car and pop the hood to do it.

@KrackaC8 might be right. Maybe it is time for a real tune…
