Sales of Nissan’s Z coupe shot up 108% in Q2 and are up 160% year to date.

I have now seen a couple more around town this summer. Chatted with a few owners.

That makes what I have seen in my town:
1 Black sport
1 Black perf (Possibly two of these)
1 Yellow perf
1 Blue perf

The funny thing is the local dealers in total have sold 6 nismo's over the past year and I have not seen one of them on the road. Maybe they were all bought by out-of-towners. Each one ended up being close to $10k off of MSRP before they sold.

The Z is a bargain for what you get, even when sold at MSRP in my opinion. Maybe people are starting to catch on.

Second season with my 2024 Sport and have yet seen another Z. When I was looking to get a sport coup two years ago I wanted something different/unique. Well, I got it! Kinda cool.

In OK (FT. Sill) area I have seen exactly two other Z’s. One black like mine and a white one at the dealer when the owner was scheduling a service! All were performance models.

Q1 was a perfect storm of a huge amount of inventory and the incentives really taking a effect. not sure we will see it go back up past 2K cars.

These incentives include 2024 pushing sales up. Even my 2025 had $2500 incentive, finance 3 mos then will pay off on top of dealer cash. Total discount $6,320 off MSRP

Dealer I was working with was giving $10k off msrp 2024/but was making it up by adding $2500 platinum package, $400 more then other dealer for prep, $300 private agency, $400 more electronic fee, $3k less for my trade in, plus more etc, so I looked around found a 2025 Performance that had 300 miles at my Nissan dealer near me that was bought by an older couple new on 6/5 amd traded back 6/21 (checked carfax) for a used larger car as they had trouble entering/exiting, had the factory lighted sill plate all seem to have, carpet mat package, door sill scuff protection for $12,500 under msrp and none of the extra addons the other dealer charged except dealer prep for $400 less then other dealer, tax, registration. I feel good deal, carfax shows mfg 12/24, dealer received 4/25. This dealer had 1 new 2025 left and no 2024 while the first overpriced dealer had 7 2024's and no 2025 and such phony discounts on their website.

I really hope Nissan sticks around long enough to honor their drivetrain warranty. My friend's Jatco 7spd auto trans just had a speed sensor issue and he's replacing it with a 6spd manual. Those of us with the Jatco auto 9spds should monitor our transmissions.

lol Nissan isn’t going anywhere. Far less desirable brands were instantly bought up by both larger companies and small groups who know how to utilize the brand (in theory (Chrysler comes to mind)).

Nissan may not be able to maintain the arrogant swagger of turning their noses up to Honda, but eventually they’ll be bought if the trouble continues.

My understanding is that Nissan has stabilized the bleeding. We shall see.

I have a theory as to why we are seeing these sold like hotcakes,... but not seeing them on the roads.... hear me out.

Retirees and collectors,.

Some random old guy came up to me, saying he just got a Z 2 years ago, but he never drives it. He simply is affraid to take it out in the streets.

As well, majority of the Z owners are well over their 40's. Many of the Z's are garage princess's
