!.UPDATE.!
There is no update. Nissan cannot figure it out. They tried blaming it on my wheel and tire specs that are the recommended by Rays and Z1. Switched back to stock tires and wheels, and the issue is still present. In Canada we don't have lemon laws. Nissan cannot figure it out. And I have a broken Z that can't even pass traffic on the highway.

That doesn’t sound right. Did they replace anything? Throttle body, sensors, reset the ecu? So they just gave the car back and didn’t fix it?

This situation has got to be gutting you.
Curious if the intermittent throttle plate situation is physical (plates are ACTUALLY closing) or perceived by the car. It's clear that ripping at high RPM/boost and immediately closing the throttle plates is not an optimum good situation. That could cause the limp mode, whether the car is glitching and throwing the plates closed, or there's a sensor or electrical problem where the car THINKS the plates are slamming shut.

Difficult issues under warranty can take a lot longer to diagnose and fix, but at least you know they're legitimately trying to fix the issue. Unlike a kneejerk "you need a new transmission" when the issue itself is a completely broken CV axle. Nissan needs to step up to the plate on this one. It's been going on far too long.

Nothing replaced. I think I'm on 5 separate visits to the dealership now. Tomorrow will be my sixth visit.

It is gutting....

Its not even just high RPM or boost anymore. It happens at 4.5k to 5k rpm. Sometimes it won't happen for a week. And then it'll happen every single pull to 5k rpm. Which means I can't even pass traffic on the highway. And more importantly, can't drive the car as it's intended to be driven. I hope they're legitimately trying to fix it, but saying it's due to wheel and tire fitment sure is a stupid fucking thing for an engineer to say. And to have it proven wrong after I repeatedly said it couldn't be possible.

The fact that they even mentioned wheels/tires is laughable.
I'd start hitting them with the dreaded "safety issue" language.

1. It's incredibly dangerous for a car to be unpredictable like that, especially at highway speeds...or when others are at highway speed and you're stuck in country lane speed.
2. This isn't at all your fault.

At a minimum they need to give you a loaner while they figure it out. That's more incentive for them to turn it around as well, as the loaner is one more car in their inventory they can't sell AND is being depreciated.

To boot, in Northern British Columbia here, I have only another 30 days that this car can even be driven. So I need to factor that in as well. Either it's fixed in 30 days. Or the car sits in winter storage for 8-9 months and we try fixing it again next year, taking another season.

I suppose you only have 1 dealership near you?, I'd check to see a second opinion, unfortunately from another nissan dealership. This is definitely a warranty issue, its either they fix, or give you a new one.

And yes even wheels, car has to be exactly how you bought it. Nissan dealerships will you any excuse they can

But that dealer is almost 6 hours away - and in limp mode, maybe longer.

if the plan is to pack the car away for the winter, maybe that’s a good time for them to give you some5ing to drive and let them have it for a while. At least they’ll have 24/7 access to it rather than just the span of one visit at a time.

It sounds like the wastegate actuators and/or their linkage to me. Either one or both of the electronic actuators is bad or it or it's linkage is sticking. I'm surprised the dealer hasn't even checked this.

It's the black part in this photo. If it is bad/misadjusted/sticking the car will boost like mad to some insane number before the ECU freaks out and probably closes the throttle plates to prevent destruction.

UPDATE!

After proving it wasn't my wheels and tires. Like I told them, and obviously so. They decided to check fuel parameters during logging and found that my fuel pressure dropped to nothing, and ran lean, during those events of "limp mode" it was a failing fuel pump. Waiting for the part to get installed Friday.
