Hi Folks,

My 70th birthday was last Friday, 8/29. I decided to have a midlife crisis and sell my Volvo C70 and get my last fun car. I had, when they were still calling it a 400 Z, read all the articles and thought for $40,000 it would be great to have a modern take on a car I'd always loved - my brother-in-law had a yellow Datsun 240 Z. I waited to see it get to market. I watched the launch and got hope. But, since 2023 I have seen two in the wild. One in yellow the first year and a white Nismo last month.

I started looking and found a 2024 Nismo with 6000 miles, but it was already a little rough and I didn't love the ride, but the price was OK. Then I saw a new, yellow 2024 Performance for $10000 off and drove about an hour to see it. That's the one I took home yesterday!

Anyway, I can't wait to take some road trips. One question I had about getting fuel; is there an issue that causes the gas pump to click off when you try to get fuel?
I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but I couldn't get the pump to keep going. I kinda hope it's just me!

Thanks everyone!

Vince
Had this issue with cars in the past. Try with the nozzle turned a bit left and see if it helps. If not try right slant. One usually works. Hope this helps.
NB 75yrs old and ex demo performance Z. Love just love it ! Sure you will too.

Wow, what a welcome! I think this will be fun! One thing though; is it just me or are there very few of these out there? As I said I've seen two registered Z's since 2023 in my area and one guy worked at the dealership and bought an unsold one off the truck when it was being dropped. I've seen more Ferrari's out there!
When I was a kid I was a SAAB freak. I worked at a dealership after school and in the summer. I got to buy these funky three cylinder two-stroke, front-drive, two doors for cheap because nobody wanted them. I rarely saw another on the road but when I did, I'd flick the high beams switch that was conveniently placed on the steering column, as God intended. Always got a flash back!
I, for one, am going to flash you if I see you!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Thanks for the tip compadres, l did it on mine and it looks fantastic! Have to use the chisel end Sharpie though, it’s so easy, l hope it doesn’t wash off.

I hand wash mine so that may not be a problem, if it does I can refresh.

Congrats!! I bought my Nismo last may, Im 68! I had four other Z's and ZX's during my life time. I decided it was time for one more. I am so glad I did, I have so much fun with that car. It's a great car for the money! Enjoy your new ride!!

Welcome to the old guys Z club! Bought my first Z at age 24, and latest Z at age 74. Still have both. Got 30+ mpg driving the new Z home from Chicago to California but that was highway driving gently during the break in period.

Nice to hear that there are new Z owners around my age in California. Congratulations!
Got mine in July and I love
