I just want to see all of the folks who constantly bitched and moan about the lack of the manual Nismo buy one so that Nissan doesn't have regrets.
Oh its gonna be regrets alright 😂

going to be interesting to see if and how they integrated Sport+ mode into the manual while keeping the rev match button as is. its doable through an in dash setting possibly like changing the cluster display.

If they leave it out you arnt getting the full nismo experience as Sport+ actually changes engine timing . also I wonder if there will be a little power bump to compensate of the manual being slower acceleration
Exactly my thoughts...

This is what Nismo Z's do to its drivers. Look at this guy's expressions...

I didn’t ask too many questions regarding their training. I was too focused on the other vehicle I had in mind. I’ll be going back Tuesday after Labor Day to see we can negotiate on it, and inquire further on the upcoming Manual nismo.

Yep, there is no doubt I would have purchased a NISMO if it came with a manual. Sadly that ship has sailed for me. Most likely whatever it will cost to get into I could (and will) upgrade my Performance for a lot less money.

I'm not sure offering a manual in the Nismo and a future Q50 is going to satisfy the customer base completely. The car journalists will find something else to not like about these future models. Plus, with the manual Nismo, the pricing will be back at MSRP or above, which no one will be willing to spend. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Agreed

Z Performance Manual Owner: this was a nice surprise yesterday. I'm interested to find out how it drives in comparison to the Automatic NISMO. One of the reasons I purchased a Z is because it was initially announced with a Manual Transmission. I guess it's commonplace for automakers to bring a manual in later, or maybe they've simply listened to the market and hope this will boost sales.

I'll quote myself here regarding ever upgrading or trading in my Z:

it would by at least 1. the only Nissan I'd ever up-trade my Performance M/T for is: a Manual, Solid Blue (think Yas Marina Blue BMW or Narwhal Blue Porsche) Nismo Z at $8-10k below MSRP.

This but a Z.
If a Manual Nismo was available at the time I bought my car, it might have been considered. But until they can be had under $60k, I'll probably not go for one. Again I'd like to learn about how they drive and drive one before anything. Stealth Gray or Pearl White are nice colors on a NISMO.

That's over 23 long years, what about just in the past 5 years? I bet still a huge drop.

Just got this, we need a resurgence!

I wouldn't have bought a Nismo Z last year, and I wouldn't buy one next year. I've said many times I'm more of a Mazda guy, but being that I don't particularly want a miata right now, and the Mazda 3 hatch, while available with a manual box, is rather slow, but that's a bit of a side tangent.

Anyway, in my opinion, Nissan can't seem to get out of their own way with the Z so far. I like my car, do I regret buying it? No. Would I have kept my Supra if I know now what I know then? My answer is...maybe.

I think the $65,000 msrp (and over 70 OTD) on a NIsmo Z is just absurd. Sure, it has some enhancements that a performance model doesn't have, but that's a very hard sell when you are approaching Porsche territory and already in the realm of some other very capable competition.

I honestly don't see the value in it. With the Nismo Z not having a manual box, that put it out of my mind by default at the time, but even if it had a manual box the small additions don't justify the significant price jump, especially considering they are almost entirely minor physical additions that I can readily and easily put on my performance Z. The juice just doesn't justify the squeeze.

Why would I spend $10,000+ on a car that already feels like it is at the higher end of its price point?

In all honesty, Nissan would have done better by not having the sport trim at all, having the Performance being closer to the sport in price, and the Nismo with a manual and auto option being closer to the performance price point.

As I said before, they just can't seem to get out of their own way at times.

Honda perfected it with the Type R. A button to select Regular, Sport and Type R mode . Rev matching timing , dampening track stiff level and power boost to 8200 rpm. Nismo will get it right.

That's the thing, this isn't astro physics by any means, plenty of cars have manual transmissions and selectable and configurable drive modes. My supra had that, and even allowed ad hoc changing of dampers and steering feedback when in and out of sport mode. I could have my dampers on soft but everything else on sport, for example.

This isn't even a new feature, really. The Focus RS had selectable drive modes and that debuted in 2016. Likely all this would take is a firmware logic update with the S mode button.
