I honestly think its subjective as well. I did a muffler delete on my 6MT. I personally think its too loud and has too much drone for my tastes. Not to say it can't sound good, but I think Nissan V6's in general since the VQ era are predisposed to sounding bad with cheap exhausts.
At the least...
That may be a difference of opinion. Not saying you are wrong, but the possibility of my head cracking to me is very much indicative of a problem.
Four transmissions, that is insane.
Australia gives a decade for warranty? That's impressive.
Maybe I'm being paranoid, but my justification is I spent almost $60,000 on this car, and the notion of having an intrusive "are these heads going to crack" thought in the back of my mind just makes owning one seem not as fun as it...
I welcome constructive opinions either way.
I wasn't aware that it starts another warranty period for that item, though. That is really surprising honestly. That is also part of the problem though. Granted I'm speaking entirely hypothetically on this, but if it does become an issue like I've...
Thanks for posting. Even if second hand its good to have some indication, but the original authors post seems to be lacking a lot of context.
Just speculating, but based on the rims I'd say there are other mods as well. A 'bottom end' failure isn't really the problem we are chasing here but...
Not sure I trust that source. He says in the first minute that 'they say a lot of these motors don't have porous blocks, they say that usually its this plug' (referencing the galley plug.)
The galley issue seems like it is mostly grounded in hypotheticals rather than facts or definitive...
I was under the impression AMS (in the video) mentioned it 'wasn't the galley plugs in any case they've seen' but I also recall them mentioning something about the crack possibly propagating to that point.
I happened to look yesterday for whatever reason (likely due to this thread.)
Oddly enough the owners manual doesn't definitively specify where it's supposed to be when cold, but it does mention the level when warm I want to say.
I do believe you are correct though. With engine completely...
I've seen that, too. Though I do want to put emphasis on AMS' last sentence: "But that does not definitively mean the issue is rectified, just that we have not seen it yet in our testing."
Granted we are largely all just speculating until more data comes in that can nudge this in one...
Never said anything about you posting anything fake, but seeing an authentic service order that shows this is a legitimate issue would help those that are concerned.
What does posting a service order have to do with being 'friends' with the people at the dealership you are referencing? You...
AMS determined it never was a porous block, but if I had to guess haohmaru had ChatGPT search for "porous block" because that's what it was referred to at the time by many; the AMS discovery was relatively recent, so if you wanted legacy data over the past few years that's the keywords you would...
Good god that fluid is disgusting. I had no idea it would get that bad that quickly. Looks like I'm adding in a fluid flush for the clutch and the brakes for my 20,000 service.
A bit off topic, but does anyone know if the emergency braking is actually present in MT cars? Mine overzealously has gone off a few times but I always find myself asking if it would actually automatically apply the brakes on a manual trans car, not that I ever want to find out.
Honestly I think I know the answer in my gut but I'm trying to refrain from entertaining it fully, or maybe I'm just being a raincloud, but call me crazy for being annoyed when this car is north of a $50,000 price point.
The problem with this whole situation is if people are in fact having them...
Title. I'm sure by now we've all seen the video by AMS (never thought it was a porous block myself.) Curious as to if any Z drivers have had this happen to theirs?
All I can seem to find are two vague facebook posts where people claim that it's happened to them, but no real evidence...
Bit of a thread necro, but I found my own thread searching on google and thought I'd throw this PSA out there for anyone when 'Value Advantage' comes up. I can't say from firsthand experience, but I would avoid ANYTHING that is under the value advantage brand. Its marketed as a Nissan brand...
Car has nismo intakes (I had the dealer install them for warranty cya purposes.)
I'm not so sure this instance is a new car thing. Could be, but my Supra didn't do it, and neither does my partners Mazda 3 (all MT cars, and < 10 years old.)
I guess I could take it to the dealer and see, but I...
