I just ordered a Set of the newly available Carbo Tech Brake pads. So Tired of the dusting. I went with the street 1521's. They also have several other versions available . Track/autocross. Gotta say the Fronts are Pricey!

The 1521 series are for street use. Carbotech also sells auto cross and track versions.

I'll be testing them out this weekend at VIR! I got the xp-10 compound at their recommendation. Glad my debacle at VIR back in November turned into something positive with getting these carbotech options?

Holy Moley ! $500 for four corners on a Nismo?
Anyone reading this thread the 1521s are the only ‘Street Pads’ Carbotech offers.
Nismo F: $306
Nismo R: $180
Total: $486 (+ I assume shipping)

The Carbotech 1521s for the Z Performance would be $180 + $180 =$360.00 for F&R

Do you really get what you pay for in this case? Honestly (in future) I’d expect genuine Akebono performance pads to cost more like $100 + $100 =$200.00 F&R. Should be cheaper tbh… sometimes they even included the complete hardware kit (pins & springs). That’s what I ran on my 370Z Nismo and they were fine for daily street use.

i agree the street pads are not worth the money. I ran the 1521, XP10 & XP12 on my “no rain” daily s2k.

my daily commute included a 5 mile stretch of twisties with fresh pavement & the extra wide two lane road).

The XP10 is a big big difference over the street version. I loved the XP12 even more but the rotor wear was excessive for my daily commute through the twisties. The rotor wear was much better with the XP10.

I'm definitely going back to the XP10s with experience, very good modulation and fade-free, plus Motul RBF660 and braided steel lines before taking it to the track next year. OEM system is woefully inadequate especially in hotter climes. What's your feedback so far with the Z?

Carbotech pads are grossly overpriced; you can get far better for far less.

Please do tell because the only other brand that has pads for the Z Nismo that is a track compound is Endless...
Ugh sorry, bad assumption on my part that other brands would have their compounds available too. I keep forgetting that this far the Z is a fairly small niche market.

Over in the Corvette world they pay off forum members to pound their chests about how amazing the pads are in an attempt to justify the 3x price tag.

Really? $180 for xp8 and xp10 (each) doesn't seem too bad. Can you name a pad brand of the same quality with a lower price tag? They also don't eat your rotors.

Yeah that's not bad, no S2000 or Corvette tax, apparently!

Yes mate it's almost non existent, it's been an absolute nightmare to get pads for the Z Nismo and CarboTech USA and Australia are a joke of a company to get back to you.

Luckily Endless now finally have them for the Nismo in the MX72, MX72 Plus and CC-Rg compound.
