Received the Nismo gas cap I ordered today. I didn’t realize that it is just a cover that goes over the factory gas gap. It isn’t a replacement. But still looks nice. Attaches with double stick tape.

That's how it has always been. The extra weight makes it more sturdy.

I had no idea this thing existed until this post. Thought it might look tacky but the pic installed changed my mind. Seems like its worth the $50 they run on eBay.

I realize nismo goodies aren’t Rolexes, but there are a lot of replicas. CZP actually sells the real ones and replicas. I think the replicas are 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the real ones. Not judging, just pointing it out.

Good looking cap, and looks even better installed!

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up. Thankfully, this is one part that probably isn’t all that noticeable if it is a replica. The seller I bought from claims it’s genuine but I’ll keep an eye out when it arrives.

Yeah I honestly wouldn't risk ebay. I'm sure there are obviously legitimate things on there and not everything is fake, but for the price to be enough for me to go to ebay it would have to be cheap enough that I'd start to question its authenticity, which negates the whole point.

I'd go through a reputable seller, but the whole double sided tape thing just makes me wonder..why? I'd spend the extra money for a real aluminum replacement easily. That being said, it does look good though.

Then there's the "carbon fiber" interior bits that are just covers for upwards of $400.00+ USD. If I have to pay hundreds of dollars, it better be a panel replacement and not held on with tape.

I bought mine online from official Nissan USA parts website. It’s interesting that the fuel cap cover is more expensive than the oil cap. That should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. I ll make a separate post on that piece when it arrives.

The fuel caps fit over the OEM gas cap where the oil caps are the whole cap, which may make the $ difference. My wife bought me the oil cap (hex shaped one) forever ago for my ’03 and it was machined billet, threads and all. Beautiful, but a pain to break loose. Grabbed my Ti shift knob when the idiot’s insurance told me it was getting totaled and forgot about the oil cap.
