Enjoy the new Z! Glad you got to deal with Nismo Nick, I was thinking about buying one of his cars before I ended up buying mine locally. Again, congrats!
Nick is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Seems honest. Very good combination of traits.

Very pleased and I am looking forward to passing either 500 or 1000 miles so I can air it out. The seats are more than adequate when compared to my 350Z.
Congratulations! Post some photos when you get a chance.

I'd recommend to follow the advice on the manual for breaking in, which says 1200 miles

Thank you for the advice. I did not have any trouble keeping the RPM's low-it goes 60 mph at about 1600RPM's. It is an automatic. I need to investigate the miles for break in. The dealer said 1000 miles beak-in and oil change. Others have said 500.

1200 miles cannot hurt and is more conservative. At my age I will not be driving this one 20 years but I do want to take care of it.

The car really wants to rocket but I am being very careful. I looked at the dash and it was in 8th gear and I never felt a discernible shift at all. Different. I used the paddle shifters to alter the RPM's while maintaining speed on the freeway.

Yeah. Up to you. I just wanted to share the screenshot of the manual, to cite my source.

wait...you bought your Z from this dude???

https://www.youtube.com/@nicklovesnissan

I watched a few of his videos, didn't realize he was in AZ!
The very same man. Avondale Nissan. As I said his enthusiasm is refreshing. He is a Nissan man through and through. Nice attitude during the dance. Persistent but not pushy. And it turns out I attended high school for two years in Tripoli, Libya with his father in law. Small world.

Congrats - she’s sweet looking. You made a good decision young man. what is the assembly date (found in the driver side door jam)? I waited for the ā€˜25 models to come out for a better price and I was concerned with the early issues - paint, transmissions, etc. i’m still in break-in mode (currently at 150 miles). i’m more concerned with the 0w-20 oil than the break-in rules. so far i have babied it, very easy on launch and 1st / 2nd gears. But i have taken 3rd & 4th up to ~5.5K - sheā€˜s rolls pretty good for stock.

BTW- If you go on the freeway, adaptive cruise control is better than std. That’s b/c of the varying engine speeds. Best not to travel a a constant 70 (or whatever) for long distances during break-in. Enjoy your new ride!

Interesting idea. I have not explored adaptive cruise control. I just put 600 miles on it yesterday and today. I have trouble with my throttle foot because unlike all of my other cars which are 20 years old I cannot rest my foot on the accelerator because it is so sensitive. I just drove at varying speeds and occasionally pulled the minus paddle to up the RPMs. My MPG reads 38 which I don't believe. Being so careful during the break-in period I believe the turbos have not gotten much work. I accidentally slipped up to 80mph and in 9th gear the RPMs were 2000!! Very smooth driver. 40mph seems the same as 70 mph. Getting ready for the first oil change. Thank yo for the advice. Adaptive cruise control-more studying! I am a fan.

My date of manufacture is 12/24. I put 600 miles on it over night and its smooth. The seat is a bit stiff but I use a cushion and get out every few hours. I am babying mine with very slow starts. I'm over 700 miles today. Have not had it over 3000 rpm and really have not seen the turbos kick in. I wonder about 0w-20 oil here in Arizona. I will investigate this before my soon to come 1000 mile oil change. Got several comments while was on my trip yesterday and today. (Edit) The dealer, who states they sell more Z cars than anyone in the country, says 0w-20 oil is the best to use for normal use. I just bought an oil change kit from ZMotorsports)

12/24 - well that is real close to being a ā€˜25 and should be free of the early issues. Looks like mileage wise you are close to opening her up.

Oil wise I’m switching over to something else - maybe 10w-30. I’m currently running 10w-30 full syn in all my other vehicle.

I donā€˜t trust oem oil recommendations anymore - it’s driven by emissions and fuel milage ratings. Not sure you will need 0wt. in AZ. You should ask nick what he’s using in his 800hp Z - lol

Just chatted with him and he recommends 0w-20. I agree that the thin oil seems fishy and I did not ask him what is in his Nismo. That was a big oversight on my behalf.
