Hey fam. Ok here is the situation. I have the itch to get a new hood. I am doing my research on a carbon fiber hood and have hit a snag and was hoping my z family could help me out. First I am gonna post the hoods I am interested in. Then I will add what I have found as far as reviews.

Ok with the Seibon hood I have read alot of people saying the fitment is crap. There are low spots. The hood makes contact with the battery and brake cover. Does anyone here have this style and what are your thoughts. Ok next hood.

Ok with the JDMUSCLE Hood it is a pre order and when I called them they said about 6 months away from production. They are still in the testing phase. Ok then last night I stumbled across a you tube video for this hood. I have never heard of them.

Has anyone here heard of this company before? I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and comment. Any photos would help too.

Seibon is crap; has been for 15+ years too. Of the 3 you listed, I'd give Alliance a try.

Like a bag of chips, you paid for something that's 60% air.
I really like it!!!
Not familiar with running aftermarket or vented hoods. It seems like steam would be a big problem in wet weather. But again, I have no reference.

@KnightRiderz - Liberty Walk is an option (a tad more than Varis) and Top Secret (TWICE the price of the Liberty Walk). My opinion, Seibon, Varis, etc... I'd go with a known brand. A lot of these off-brands are guys in their garage or they're paying pennies on the dollar for garbage from China that they're sending to you. And with a known brand you're WAY more likely to get help if something is scratched/damaged. I wouldn't chance a no-name on a CF hood.

I am planning on buying a '27. Since the hood is already lightweight aluminum I will just install vents to aid in the intercooler efficiency. Regarding comments on steam, I never found that to be an issue with my Shelby GLHS, living in rainy Washington.

Yeah I wasn't going for the weight reduction. More for the look. Did even consider the cooling aspect. Thank you for pointing that out.

Go with a quality Japanese manufacturer ($3k plus) or seriously consider the Chinese carbon manufacturers from Ali Baba. Why pay the middleman like Seibon and Alliance $1.5k for a hood they had manufactured from Ali Baba for $600?

Pop quiz: What Z specialist company buys 93% of it's in-house portfolio direct from Ali Baba?

This is 100% accurate. With most carbon parts, 90% of the typical "super cool Z shops" just buy and resell stuff off Alibaba. If you do your research, it'll be very easy to find who we're talking about.

I'm also interested in this conversation because I do also want a fiber vented hood. My Seibon wing is awesome but I've heard the complaints about Seibon hoods before.
