I’ve used soft blue tinted LEFs in a Honda SUV for 5 yrs. They have yet to burn out. I even went behind the dash & radio as I found tiny LEDs to replace there. You can do door curtesy lights in the same color. I hate the ‘bright white’ LEDs. It’s glaring as others have said.

The little LEDs don’t last forever, contrary to popular belief but do draw less current so aren’t as hard on your wiring harness, connectors and battery drain. Go for it!

I upgraded with the amazon purchased LEDs below. No issues. They came in a six pack - only needed 3. I want to order the LEDs for the visor/vanity/mirror lights next as they look really dull with the cabin lights upgraded.

You made a mistake in that purchase.

I know I’m being overly cautious but I ordered LED lights for the interior map and trunk lights. I haven’t installed them yet, but is it as easy as just plugging them in without any worries on compatibility with the Z's electrical system? The dull and old lighting is the one thing I notice at night. Could it have really cost Nissan big bucks to have Interior LED's or was there some electrical component that needed to be upgraded? 💁‍♂️
I installed them and there is a night a day difference. Also no codes or any other issues with the installation.

A million years ago I was an Operations Specialist in the USN, I worked in a dark cold room with only red lighting. We had to read manuals and do all kinds of detailed work under those red lights. You can see and read everything under red light better than white light IMO. It's easier on the eyes. Or I might just be weird.

I did these and could not be happier. I did one strip under each footwell and one strip under each seat. All wires tucked neatly under trim pieces all the way around. The app works great too.

Recommendations for the vanity bulb(s) upgrade. I thing the rectangular "clear" plastic just pops off? Does anyone have a picture of it off for the location of the tabs?

I found some Red LEDs that say they are for the Z. 24 bulbs $6 shipped. I don’t think I need the festoon ones, but can use them on another car.

Probably not fancy or durable. They may need to be flipped around if they don't light. But- At that price, it’s worth a shot before buying expensive ones.
