I know I’m being overly cautious but I ordered LED lights for the interior map and trunk lights. I haven’t installed them yet, but is it as easy as just plugging them in without any worries on compatibility with the Z's electrical system? The dull and old lighting is the one thing I notice at night. Could it have really cost Nissan big bucks to have Interior LED's or was there some electrical component that needed to be upgraded? 💁‍♂️

I installed these and they've been working perfectly. Easy plug & play install. I've done the same for all previous vehicles in recent history without issues.

No issues here with LED lighting through the interior. Over a year now.

From a technical perspective, the lighting harnesses looks to be taken directly from the 370z. The bulbs are the same, same housing, and locations. The system can easily handle LED lights.

I installed red LED's in the cab and 2700k daylight in the trunk. Red, green, and blue are easier on the eyes at night. I just went with red to match. I definitely recommend colored if you dont want to blind yourself at night.

You can also switch out the dome light covers to a clear cover from the GTR which will help light pass through and not look so... aged. I recommend that since you'll already have them off to change out the bulbs.

I got two red led bulbs for the interior as the white led bulbs were blinding!!

The boot/trunk is white.

Red interior light is ideal. Trust me, give it a go and you'll love it. Very subtle.

If you needed to read something in the dark, could you do it with one of those red lights?

lol Idk. I like how the red looks but thought it would be difficult to see/read if I actually dropped something or needed to read a piece of paper

Happens to me. Red works great. It helps you get your phone out with the torch on and look for your lost item. Easy.

Forget white. Get RED.

Hmmm? I've had my Z a couple of years and never drove it at night, yet.
