Not required to have one in my state. Have to pay an extra $50 a year though and put a sticker in the windshield that has a number they print on the registration. I love the clean look.

Traveled to other states in my Z and other sports cars without a front plate and never been pulled over for it. I would think (haha) that cops would understand / know all states don't require it.

If I had to do it I don't think low and off-center like yours looks bad at all. I personally would probably get a bit tweaked out without it being centered though :)

Minnesota requires a front plate. Like most places, local, county, and state police enforce it according to their proximity and their whim. Usually not a ticket, but a vehicle defect citation that requires a verified correction. My experience is that one could go maybe a month or so in this rural area before getting pinched...less in more urban areas.

Depends on the state. Here it's not just a fix-it ticket but a citation for "misuse of plates" and 2 points on your license.

It does depend on the state, but more depends on the attitude of the agency or the individual officer. Here, the Sheriff's Dept can barely be bothered to write a speeding ticket, let alone a license plate violation, but the State Patrol is very, very, very picky. They have the option of a warning or letting such a thing slide, but rarely do. "Company policy".

I’m in Kalifornia :giggle: If you know, you know…. I can’t stand front plates on a sports car personally. It trips me out how many cars have to have holes in the bumper to mount them. So. No front plate for me until the day I get slapped with a “fix it” ticket. Cross your fingers for me please! Lol. If I end up being forced to run one, I will try and figure out the spot that will have less effect on blocking airflow. Without any damage for attachment of course!

Front plates are a must in NY. People still don’t use them though but it’s a risk. I would use one of those flip ones for my front bumper if I could find one that worked.

I hate parking at places where they have meter maids who write parking tickets for no front plates!

Haven't had a front plate on 4 of my last 5 cars including the Z.

In NJ where a front plate is technically required. Only got pulled over 1 time for the no plate in that 12 or 13 years. That was in my old BRZ.

Definitely dont want a plate on the Z. The gaping maw needs to be left unhindered haha.

I live in Washington state that does require front plates. I've had two cars with no front plates (FRS and the Z), been pulled over about 5 times with those cars, and never once had them give me a ticket for it. Friends tell me I'm lucky and they know other people who have got the ticket, but my experience over the course of 10 years is they don't seem to enforce it.

Anyone without one been ticketed? I like the off-center @Mishimoto mount, but I love the plate free look.

I HATE the front plate requirement. It destroys the car's look. Thank God I don't have to do that anymore since we moved to Fl from NY many years ago. Best decision ever made ?
