Dyno results

Going down next week to get my stock 24' dyno'd to get a baseline to see what I'm working with. Anyone else done the same that can share results? My old school train of thought is there's like a 15% drivetrain loss (so say 350hp), but I'm seeing a lot of 370-380, just not sure how true all that is.

A dyno is simply a tool to see what you gain from work and mods. You could go to 10 dynos in one day and get 10 wonky numbers. Also, it depends on if they do standard or SAE. I think standard is actual weather conditions and SAE if corrected for altitude, humidity, temp and so on to give you perfect conditions to see what the total potential would be.

Interested in your results. I know a lot of it depends on the octane of gas you will use in these engines too.

I plan on just 93 and standard. I live in Florida, so conditions will always be hot bringing the numbers down. Just got the car, teaching the kids how to install and such. So eventually FBO, but will be adding them over time. Intakes are on the way for the 1st one. Never done a dyno, so want to see what its all about. Hopefully the noise and show of power can peak the kids interest a bit more!

Depending on their dyno and settings, you'll see between 340 and 390. As long as you use that dyno and tuner, you'll know your gains relative to your baseline.

Pretty sure no. You'd see way more power with bigger turbos.

I agree, an auto should be ~15% loss and a MT ~13% on a drum dyno (dyno jet / mustang). Lets assume the Z has a super efficient driveline - we should at lease see a ~10% loss. A wheel hub dyno will read close to crank numbers.

Another variable is the dyno‘s reporting settings - you can change the correction standards i.e. STD, SAE, RAW/uncorrected, etc. - this can be included on the graph - it’s always good to see this listed on the graphs to know what corrections are being used.

So my take is these engines are a little hotter than nissan‘s numbers.

So best is to do a before and after on the same dyno with the same conditions - the SAE corrections are attempt to keep conditions the same but nothing is perfect. if you ask for a copy of the dyno file (raw data), you can download a free viewer and change the corrections STD/SAE/Raw to see the differences. if there is a time between before and after, you should make sure there were no calibration / repair changes to the dyno

How would a hub dyno give crank power? You're still at the back of the car and the power comes through the drivetrain at the front.

Tranzor Z is correct. Just bolt ons no changes to Turbo or fuel system.

Any one install AMS flex fuel kit ? I'm curious and intrigued. I have E 85 available nearby me. In that video I shared, nissan under rates the Torque . It makes slight more torque in stock form without tune.
