The best way I can describe the seats in my 2024 performance are Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde! Sometimes I get in and I like them and feel comfortable, other times not so much, and once in a while during a drive it goes from one end to another and even back within 15 minutes! They aren’t terrible just not good, call it mediocre to poor. While it isn’t a deal breaker now I could see down the road if I’m in front of the right performance car for sale then a trade at a dealer may just happen (thinking 987 or 981 Cayman S or GTS with the right history would do it) if the seats are much better.
Now to be fair I still have about 35 lbs to lose (but lost 40 already!) so that will probably help some but I wonder if there is a great after market solution I should look into?! I’m about 5’ 9” with a pretty stocky build (~220 lb, but a decent amount of muscle so my upper back is wider and my booty and thighs won’t shrink a ton more with that 35 lb off). I’d like to be around $3k all in for seats and hardware and I’m fine losing the seat airbag (still probably safer than anything 10 years or older) I don’t want the airbag light on and I don’t want to splice any wires (as plug and play as possible, plus it needs to be easy to switch stock seats back in). Has anyone done this successfully and what did you do to accomplish this? Also really helpful if you have a similar build and how much better did you find the aftermarket seats? I’m also not a brand snob and love a good value but I also want something well built and as safe as they can be. Thanks for your good thoughts!
PS: I have the awesome blue interior, I did think about tracking down the NISMO seats but those seem pretty high priced used at the moment, don’t match color wise and I don’t think it’ll fix the seat bottom issue.
