The best way I can describe the seats in my 2024 performance are Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde! Sometimes I get in and I like them and feel comfortable, other times not so much, and once in a while during a drive it goes from one end to another and even back within 15 minutes! They aren’t terrible just not good, call it mediocre to poor. While it isn’t a deal breaker now I could see down the road if I’m in front of the right performance car for sale then a trade at a dealer may just happen (thinking 987 or 981 Cayman S or GTS with the right history would do it) if the seats are much better.

Now to be fair I still have about 35 lbs to lose (but lost 40 already!) so that will probably help some but I wonder if there is a great after market solution I should look into?! I’m about 5’ 9” with a pretty stocky build (~220 lb, but a decent amount of muscle so my upper back is wider and my booty and thighs won’t shrink a ton more with that 35 lb off). I’d like to be around $3k all in for seats and hardware and I’m fine losing the seat airbag (still probably safer than anything 10 years or older) I don’t want the airbag light on and I don’t want to splice any wires (as plug and play as possible, plus it needs to be easy to switch stock seats back in). Has anyone done this successfully and what did you do to accomplish this? Also really helpful if you have a similar build and how much better did you find the aftermarket seats? I’m also not a brand snob and love a good value but I also want something well built and as safe as they can be. Thanks for your good thoughts!

PS: I have the awesome blue interior, I did think about tracking down the NISMO seats but those seem pretty high priced used at the moment, don’t match color wise and I don’t think it’ll fix the seat bottom issue.

C7 Corvette seats (non-competition) are great (C8 not so much).

I find the Z seat comfort varies based on the angle I hold my foot over the pedals. Something to be cognizant of!

Completely agree on the angle part! If I push my lower back into it I notice it gets better, also if I have my foot all the way into the clutch at times it get worse. I’ve found if I’m cruising on the highway using cruise control I can get into a fairly comfortable position. However, I’ve only done 30 minutes or so and I’m planning on a tail of the dragon trip in June and that will be about 15 hours each way which makes me nervous about comfort!

Tail of the Dragon is worth it! There's a BP at one end with 93-octane. Would suggest staying in Bryson City, NC. I've found the longer drives have actually been more comfortable in these seats than the shorter trips.

Thanks for the good info! I plan on bringing my son and stopping at Dollywood for a day as well, maybe even Jack Daniels since it’s on the way! Possibly even slipping down to Atlanta and Z1 for fun!

they quite literally are jekyl and hyde, the passenger and driver seats have different bottoms, the driver has that little thigh-separator hump.

I'm in the same boat, bigger guy (6' 280lb) and find that I'm sitting on the bottom bolsters. I like the back rest, but the bottom seat is just too thin and the bolsters are sitting on the plastic frame. I wound up getting a 1" thick memory foam pad on amazon and now I find it totally fine comfort wise, if not visually ideal. Just make sure you get one that's at least 20x18 to get full coverage.

I disconnected the plastic trim on the drivers sill side for this exact reason; this helps a ton. You need a small hooked pick to remove the two retaining clips for the seat height adjustment knobs and then the trim can be unclipped. You don't need to fully remove it if you don't want too, just removing the knobs and unclipping it lets it flex out of the way and stop you from sitting on it. Hope this helps.

Q60 and Q50 are platform mates to the Z, are new enough that you could find used seats in good condition, and the airbag stuff might be compatible.
Only thing I can think of that might make these not an exact swap is that the Q50 is a 4 door, may affect track length, and the Q60 driver seat has powered rear seat access.
They also have the power seat controls on the door side, not in the lower bolster. They also have memory function, but I've successfully put Infiniti memory seats in an older Nissan, the seats worked fine with just 12V and ground. They even bolted in without mods.

I get the complaint about the seats for larger folks. the car including the seats fits me like a glove. But i was any larger it would be a problem.

sometimes i get into the seat and I’m thinking who has adjusted my seat - lol. I have to work a little to get settled into the seat because of the non-slip suede like leather material. But i love everything about the seat it’s perfect for me.

i love the dragon - 130 miles away. have not been in the Z - yet

The ‘07 S2K was about 1 year old in this ‘08 maiden voyage… <5k miles on the clock… i wonder what it would be worth today..

AP2 between 40k to 80k on the odometer, $35-40k or so. Sweet car, and definitely take the Z to the dragon!

There are 2 things for me that determine comfort in the seat.

1. Proper aim when getting in. My butt needs to be all the way back against the backrest. When my aim is perfect, the seat fits like a glove.

2. If I’m on a longer trip, I take my wallet out of my back pocket.

I put about 800 miles on my car over Christmas with the longest drive being from Beaufort, SC to N. Ga. About 330 miles and 5-6 hours because I take a lot of back roads. I have less discomfort in this car than I had in any full sized truck.

I only weigh around 185 but I do have a 38” waist (few too many doughnuts 🤷‍♂️) for comparison. So, not a lot of room to move around but I don’t really need it.

I find that with the seat too, if I get my butt back against the seatback it’s pretty good. The back of the seat doesn’t bug me too much, it is a little tight on the shoulders but overall fine. Waist wise a 36” gets a little loose after an hour of it stretching out so a little smaller in the waist.

I'm thinking the main issue with that would be height...
