I’m surprised at this response from awe for connecting their standard 3” flange to another standard 3” flange and suggesting that you may need a custom adapter plate for 3” to 3”….

I guess you caught them off guard trying to connect 3” to 3” - lol

Silly me for trying to build something with corresponding mods.

The supplied adapter plate is only there because the OE flange does not have enough surface area to support the supplied gasket on our 3” connection. If the aftermarket downpipe flange has enough surface area to support that gasket, fitment may be possible without the adapter plate. The adapter plate does not act as a spacer and will not change how the flanges physically meet.

For reference: the adapter plate has a 2.5” internal diameter, while the gasket supports the 3” connection. Aftermarket 3" DP fitment depends on how closely the aftermarket downpipe flange location, shape, and dimensions match the required spec.

Parts referenced in the installation guide on page 2:
Supplied adapter plate - 110091 (C in the parts list)
Supplied gasket - 910003 (D in the parts list)
AWE flange (downstream part) - F41 + F42 (Inlet pipes)

installed my awe touring exhaust this weekend mated to 3” spool lowers. flanges matched up perfectly and i used the gaskets that came with the lowers - looks like standard 2-bolt 3” flange on both…

You wont have a leak, send it, no adapter needing, stop overthinking it.
