Hello,
I was having my Z serviced at the dealer (oil change etc.) and I asked them to disable the ASE even for a charge.
I was told that they tried to do that through the "Consult" for another customer two months ago but it didn't work. They said that the software changes periodically the reason it didn't work.
Is this correct? If not please let me know if there is a Nissan dealer in Orange County California who can disable the ASE.
Thanks for your help.

I tried at Irvine Nissan a few times during my first few oil changes and they always said they were too busy to spend the extra time! If anyone does have a dealership that can do it with no issue, that would be great

I know other owners who are not in California who had this disabled. It didn’t take the dealership long to do. I don’t notice it being very annoying but I wouldn’t mind hearing the cars exhaust note naturally rather than amplifying it. I am surprised Nissan has this feature enabled especially in the Z. I have read it becomes extremely annoying when there’s been any modifications to the exhaust and it definitely needs to be disabled.

I'm glad my IS 500 has the option to turn this off entirely. I keep my ASC around 50% anyway.

14 holy smokes, read it. What does it say, trust the traveler? Oh, you got it got. What does it say? And how did you read it? There's big font letters on top global entry. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so when he's traveling, he doesn't stay in the lineup or anything, he goes right straight. Oh, so we gotta start traveling now. Yeah okay oh goodness

At the end of the service they tried again and they were able to get it done.
It's amazing! What a difference! I can now hear the engine and the exhaust naturally without the fake sounds.
Tustin Nissan did it for me. Ask for Jeff at the service department. .

I just bought a '27 Nismo MT, and they could not turn it off. They're waiting for an update to the Consult software, and it's supposed to be out soon.

I had the dealer do it during my first oil change and they did it for free.
Well they tried and said it was done but it isn’t.

I watched him go back to my car with the tablet when I reminded him and he spent about 15 minutes in it. Didn’t think it was so complicated but I dunno. I even gave them screenshots with the menus from the other thread.

I don’t think I’d need to wait for a consult update though because I’m in a 2024.. I’m gonna ask them again on my next visit and hope somebody else is there to do it lol

Between ANC and ASE, what's the consensus on what's best?
Are people disabling one and not the other, or flipping both off together?

My dealer said $185 to disable. Just have to tell them ahead of time so they can schedule the right tech.

My local Nissan dealer said a "3rd party tool" was required, and they could not help as they use only Nissan parts and "tools." I want it done ugh, will try another dealer..

I do too! I would like to hear the engines natural sound so up shifting and down shifting can be done smoother
