Are there any 2 piece rotors cheaper than the single piece rotors you can find on RockAuto for this car?

A lot of people at the track say that the 2 piece rotors are cheaper since you only need to replace the disc and not the hat, but I find that all of the single piece rotor options from RockAuto to be cheaper then the replacement discs for the 2 piece rotors. The only upside would be a lighter unsprung mass, but I'd rather go with something cheap than worry about this.

Trying to see if there is any truth that 2 piece rotor replacement rings are cheaper than 1 piece rotors. To my knowledge, this statement is entirely false.

Not sure what a full set of aftermarket single-piece rotors cost but a full set of OEM is less than $400.

A full set of Akebono 2-piece from Z1 for Perf is $1,650 (currently on sale for $1,050).
Replacement rotors are $780.

A full set of Paragon 2-piece from CZP for Perf is $1,800 (currently on sale for $1,350).
Replacement rotors are $1,150.

A full set of 2-piece from RB for a NISMO Perf is $2,150. (for reference, as they only do the NISMO at this point)
Replacement rotors are $1,289.

Edit: The RB parts/pricing above were correct for a Perf, listed under ”09+ 370Z” on their website. I found them after I typed the info, changed prices and didn‘t change the rest.
RB for NISMO is $2,520 with rotors-only for $1,444.

Racing Brake has a kit for the Z Performance as well. It's the same set for the 370Z with Akebonos.

Yeah so for cheapness, the best way to go is whatever rotor rock auto has. I just wanted to confirm this. thanks.

Maybe you could find a 2-piece set on AliExpress cheap, but I'd run single-piece from a known brand over that 24/7/365.

Also, you have to search to find pricier options, but there is a Stoptech set of single-piece that's around $1K for all 4 corners (from CZP). Cheaper than a set of replacement RB and Paragon rotors ("irons"), but not the Akebono from Z1, at this point anyway.

Solely based on cost, ignoring any performance differences, for the vast majority of aftermarket single-piece, a full set is going to be cheaper than a full set of replacement irons for 2-piece. And that doesn't include the premium you pay up front for the initial 2-piece kit/parts.

Not sure who was saying that replacement rings are cheaper than single piece
was the context comparing two piece rotors to carbon ceramics? Because that makes more sense

This was at COTA and I was talking to a porsche 992 owner. I assumed he was just having to pay the porsche tax. His 992 doesn't have carbon ceramic brakes on his either.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any validity in his claim for my car and that seems to be true according to this thread. Thanks!

Not sure what model he had, but a front set of 2 of Brembo Premium OE 1-piece rotors for a 2024 911 Carerra S is $258 from Tire Rack.

Obviously, your assumption was spot on.

I just got the Powerstop Z26 slotted rotor and brake kit for $600 shipped rears and fronts. There’s no way you’re getting two pieces sets for that.

You need to decide what you’re trying to do. I just wanted sportier looking rotors with less brake dust. If you’re tracking the car, two piece might make sense but if not, there’s literally no reason to do it other than the flex at a car show (and it’s not even a good flex at that).

I'm tracking the car, but I'd rather maximize my money than maximize the performance of the car. Admittedly, I'm not good enough a driver to make up time from the small weight savings a 2 piece would provide.

For street no point getting 2-piece rotors except for the bling factor. OTOH for track use, OEM rotors will still hold up fine., 2-piece being lighter can help but for longer sessions. Spend your $$ on the best pads, hi-temp fluid, and tires for stopping and safety's sake, that's a must. And 1-piece are way cheaper consumables to replace anyway, you will go thru rotors depending on pads aggressiveness.

I'm doing 2 piece rotors, all 4 sides for aesthetics, weight savings and spirited driving. Plus the 2027 Nismo's come with the fronts. Matter of fact putting them on today!

I wish AP would do rotors for the RZ34. Jonesing for those 'aesthetically-pleasing' J-hooks for years.

unfortunately those sexy rotors are for their specific calipers, which do seem to be the standard for dedicated track days
