Any updates on the VR30 head issue?

Personally, when I buy a sports car, I tend to look for ones that are as close to stock as possible. As you know, buying used carries risks, but no more risk than any other car.

I'll keep that in mind

This was his R&D car, and even ran E20 blend in it on stock form so while it's low mileage it still has risk involved

Edit: also stock Z's just don't handle well so Tryna save dollars and time on that haha

There is zero risk. The Vr30 is a solid motor, they had a few issues early on, but post 2020 they made some revisions and things are GTG. You will have a solid warranty, but you won’t need it. I’ve owned allot of cars, the new Z is my favorite. I owned an atomic orange C6 Z06 and those things were dropping valves like crazy. If you had that happen, your into a 20k motor. The VR30 is a rock solid motor and they are super plentiful and cheap!

You can literally buy one from Nissan for 8K if you pay full price. There is no issue with the Z motors so you wont ever need one anyway.

z1 motorsport can source them from nissan too, its listed on their website, maybe they will ship overseas

look I get you and I’m the first to be concerned about this too but we are talking about 3 Nissan Zs with reported engine replacement, that’s very minimal in the grand scheme of things. Besides their all related to different issues and no tech has reported cracked head yet.
The tech working on the Nismo is actually in that FB group and hopefully he will give us some insight on what actually when wrong.

I should be pissed/concerned because I just got a HKS Super Turbo for my Nismo that’s 5.9k AUD, but you know what f#ck it… one day at a time!

Why would getting the super turbo be a concern? Cuz it throws warranty out the door or?

I'm concerned (well was) about the engines reliability mate that's all, so dumping money on a car that you're gonna push hard on the track (just armature trackdays) is always concerning if there is an underlining mechanical issue, sometimes I think I should've got a M2 G87. But let me tell you, slowly we are finding out that the engine issues are those seeking more power.

In terms of Warranty in Australia we don't have those draconian dealership policies you guys have there in the US. Also I'm pretty sure HKS know how to build an exhaust better than Nissan themselves, Nissan didn't even bother to make the exhaust longer for the Nismo ffs.

With 30K+ on mine, the coolant level has stayed the same and it doesn't use any oil. I enjoy my car to the point it's gonna need another set of brake pads.
