intakes don’t add any noticeable power. Our stock intakes are as good as they are. For the sound, you’d be better off with a BOV. Not only it sounds better, but it also helps to protect the turbos.

I have the alpha500 package using stock intakes pushing 494 on 85. Eventually i bought the ams intakes just for the “looks”.
Don’t see anything wrong with turbo internal dump valves on the VR30DDTT. Unless the electronics for the diverters fail and nuke the turbos. If you’re building a race-car to drive mostly flat out then yeah, mechanical BOVs are foolproof… and would sound better.

tried it on dyno with no OEM filter (lost power)
got a copy of the dyno ? where did it loose power? - if it lost down low, it must have had gains up top - similar to 3” b6

Most modern cars will lose power without a filter. The filters work well to smooth the airflow and make it less turbulent for accurate/stable MAF readings.

Similar to water we could drown being overwhelmed with too much air pressure . Makes sense

The VR30 cannot be tuned to support BOVs, the tuning software does not support it.

I'm tuned with ecutek and I have the kompact dual port bov's. 15k miles later and no issues. It's essentially upgrading the current diverter valves. They are superior boost holding, faster response, and better reliability than the stock plastic diverter valves on these cars. It has been tested by Tokyo Motorsports, Motive, etc. Now, you might have some other issues if you use other BOV's.
