how much did it ended up costing you?
I'm pretty sure the Q50/Q60 use the R190. Maybe that's why? Wouldn't make sense since Nissan's been using the R200 for a while now but that's the only reason I can think of.Where does it say in any specs the new Z has the R190 diff? It should come with at least the R200, lots of aftermarket for that.
It's not confirmed either way yet - at least not that I've seen. However, the Q50 and Q60 use the R190. I would bet that's likely what's in the Z. I believe the 370Z was the last car in the entire lineup using the R200 assembly. It would make sense to align it with its platform sisters.Where does it say in any specs the new Z has the R190 diff? I don't know what they are laughing at. Their 4 banger model also comes with an open diff.Looking over on the Supra side a lot of them are poking fun of the base Z for having an open diff. For those with a 370Z that went this route, I'm just wondering what are all the options out here and how much did it ended up costing you?
Only thing with the new Z is they supposedly upgraded a lot of the stuff around the diff assembly for the new car. Might not need a bushing upgrade but we won't really know that until guys like you (that really drive these outside of a press event) get their hands on one.$3100 total to get the open diff on a base 370 changed to a bulletproof Wavetrac diff.
Included replacing the OEM axle flanges, side bearings and seals which has to be done to do it right.. Plus Z1 urethane diff bushings are a must.
And the last time I checked it was even more expensive at $43.5k. The MSRP price differences alone should cover the cost of an aftermarket LSD on the Z.I don't know what they are laughing at. Their 4 banger model also comes with an open diff.![]()
It also has a lot less power. You'd have more of a point if the 3 liter didn't have an LSD.I don't know what they are laughing at. Their 4 banger model also comes with an open diff.![]()
My point is that both base models are stripped down, but the sport Z is a better starting point imo. It's much easier and cheaper to add LSD to a Z than it is to swap in a B58 into the 4-banger Supra as some on the other forum have wanted to do.It also has a lot less power.
