Hey everyone,
New to the Z world so forgive any dumb questions. My 24 just has a catback at the moment just looking to see which intake would give me the most sound i miss turbo sounds from my previous car lol. Also considering I’m not doing any downpipes or upgraded inter cooler( at the moment) just the CAI would i need a tune?
thanks in advance

No tune needed on a CAI. Depending on what brand you go with you don't get a huge amount of suction sound on the Z. Some of the ones that expose the filters or where the lids come off are more noticeable

The noise on the Armaspeed and Boosted6 intakes is quite loud surprisingly. I was very impressed when i heard them.

Yeah everyone says the boosted6 is the loudest one

The AMS Nismo and Z1 sent as loud as I thought they would be.

Boosted 6 most sound. Any intakes you can remove the window on the filter boxes will also produce a louder sound. I would think about a tune with CAI and Catback. From my understanding changes in airflow with this car do not sit well. Not to mention a tune really brings life to the car.

Planning for the future, as I have a couple of fiddly things I’d like to hit first (modifying my oem undershroud with a removable an oil change service panel and extended studs and spacers).

Once that’s done I’m thinking intake. Considering all, but leaning toward the NISMO, AMS, Mishimoto Or K&N. HKS AND Gruppe M aren’t in play($$$!), and shorties like Boosted6 are taking the back burner at this point.

I recently watched a “Project Farm“ video on different filters and although oiled provided incredible flow, the particulate they let through was a lot more than dry. A lot more. I typically have my cars for a long time (13 years on my first Z33 and 12 on my 2nd), so I’m willing to sacrifice a little power and a little $ (oiled can be used, cleaned and reused for a while).

Appreciate your knowledge/feedback on which RZ34 intake kits are oiled vs dry, and your thoughts in general on long term usage.
