Adhesive residue on paint

My car paint has adhesive residue from the dealership. Looks like it was from the tech ripping off the transportation white protective film and left marks all over the paint. Would clay mitt work on removing the residue or should I just go straight to machining with paint correction?

I wanted to reach out here for those that can help me decide what the best way to handle it

I had some on the sides of the rear bumper. A little wax act took it off. You can slightly use a bit of scratch x on an application pad too

I almost hate to admit that I've had mine since November and still have a few small lines of adhesive I haven't gotten off. But yeah mine rubbed off fairly well in the spots I actually tried. Mine was mostly the rear bumper around the reflectors. Didnt have any on the hood or roof ect

Wipe it off with some IPA.
Wax protects, doesn't clean.

And: Why can't Nissan dealers deliver a clean car? Price point too low, or nobody GAF?

Didn't do that for my 23 white performance and had to do a little paint correct before my PPF and CC

With my Nismo Delivery
Had the dealership do the cleaning prior to delivery. Wasn't 100% perfect, but saved me $$$ and time when brining to my detailer for PPF and CC.

I always feel that getting a "detail" from a dealership could do more harm than good. I avoid at all costs.

Mine was delivered with the adhesive lines too. I agree the IPA wipe would probably work, or maybe some quick detail spray after a wash. Others have specifically suggested 3M adhesive remover (the general purpose one, not one of the specialty ones).

My 2024 had a few lines of adhesive that were only visible from some angles and in some lights. I noticed this as I was picking it up. They were embarrassed, took it back to the shop and wiped it down with some kind of benign solvent...no big deal. Had I not discovered it at the dealer, I would have just wiped it down myself with some wax...again, no big deal. It's a great dealership and they bent over backwards for me.

Cosmetic prep at many dealerships is done last minute by high school kids for minimum wage. I am inclined to temper my expectations

For me, it was such a minor issue and took so little time for them to completely resolve that escalating the issue would have been embarrassing.

Anyway, one should be careful.....no doubt some dealerships have really good detailing departments, but IME the majority absolutely do not.

Mine did as well, but I used WD40 to get them off. Worked freakishly good, the lines came off like melted butter.

I removed most of the residue on the drivers side post wash with a little elbow grease, spray on wax/sealant, and a microfiber towel.

Most of mine was on the fenders, door, and quarter panels. Still discovering new lines in different lighting

Yeah, Im just going to claybar and do paint correction with a DA polisher. Then add Sealant afterwards
