Recently purchased a barely used 2024 Z Nismo (had 80kms on it).

It will be casually tracked from time to time but primarily weekend on road driving. I mostly want to mod it to learn more about cars.

Considering: stage 1 ECU tune, heat exchanger (CZP), sealed CAI (AMS / Nismo), undershroud (CZP) and exhaust (AWE touring).

To anybody who's done any of these mods, what kind of HP did you pick up or how much better was cooling performance? Is any of this just an outright waste of time even for educational purposes? Does the Nismo badge even need any of this? What would you prioritise?

Here is some dyno information for the AWE Touring Edition. Hope it helps! đŸ˜ŽđŸ”„

You luckily have the NISMO which has the extra heat exchanger. You should not have an issue with cooling. I have the performance, did the Nismo HX and got 10-20 degrees lower. I have the Nismo street exhaust and Nismo CAI and I imagine were around a 15-20HP increase based off nearly every video that has dyno'd these parts before and after install. No tune.

I would not do the undershroud on the nismo, it already has a great aero undershroud package from the factory. All the currently available undershrouds are made for the perfromance/sport and have the oil cooler outlet under the nose which the Nismo did away with presumably to reduce front lift. Everything else on your list is fine.

Thanks all, helpful. I'll probably just do the exhaust now for the note and leave the rest until I've tracked it to see if any issues.

I would still recommend you do heat exchanger if you want to track it. The radiator that Nismo added on are 2 small ones on the sides, that’s the reason of the new grill design of the front bumper. They are in front of the front wheels/tires. But the main one in the middle is still the original size which is small, so it will always be an upgrade if you do the heat exchanger.

On the nismo the one on the passengers side is an extra heat exchanger for the intercoolers. The one on the drivers side is an extra radiator for the engine coolant system.

If you intend on primarily tracking your nismo, I would suggest a few different mods before you add hp.

In my opinion, the nismo has enough power, but it can drastically improve with handling modifications to give more cornering confidence.

Example, the rear end is very sloppy, and it does not instill confidence (in me, at least) while accelerating out of a corner.

My current plan is to stiffen the rear end collars, bushings, and add bracing for the rear differential to better stabilize the rear axle. That will be paired with adjustable suspension linkages to dial in the camber and toe.
I am also planning on adding a lighter brake disks. That paired with different tires will shave off roughly 50lb of unsprung weight. The stock tires are heavy due to the run-flat strips, and generally not that great for performance tires, especially considering price.

I've done similar modifications on my 370 in the past and it was a huge improvement in performance driving.

Again, this is my opinion. Everyone has different priorities ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I cant speak for the current cooling performance of the nismo, but i would imagine a larger heat heat exchanger for the A-T-W intercoolers will also help to reduce heat soak.
Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I got the Z1 undershroud for two reasons.
You have to remove the shroud completely to change the oil, and there are, not exaggerating, like 18 fasteners of at least 3 different types under there. Three of them are the plastic rivet/clip things. The Z1 shroud has a removable service panel with 4 screws.

1. I plan to change the oil myself occasionally. Z1 shroud is much less of a pain.

2. I don’t have to worry about anyone else that changes the oil losing, stripping or breaking fasteners. Or, at least, not nearly as much. One loose or missing fastener and things could start flapping. IMHO, it’s just not worth worrying about whether they got everything back on correctly every time I take it in.

Mishimoto makes a really nice aluminum under shroud w/service panel that fits the Nismo.

Are you sure the Mishimoto one will fit the NISMO? I was in the market for one as well and noticed Z1 had one specific for the NISMO. Looks like these "tabs" are different.

I could be wrong and/or the pictures may not be accurate.

I don’t think the Mishimoto fits the NISMO.
The menu bar says:
This item fits!
Fits sub-models:
Nismo, Performance, Sport, Touring
Touring? Anyway, the compatibility list lower on the page doesn‘t list the NISMO.

The front of mine is completely flat. All fasteners on the same plane. Maybe those outside tabs could be bent and fit, but I wouldn’t think that’s what they planned for people to do. That would kill it for me.

Something else *maybe* is the NISMO has a center support that attaches to a brace underneath to make it flatter. The OEM non-NISMO doesn’t have the bracket and attaches directly to the brace (the three plastic rivets in the middle crease). Z1 accounted for this, and the Mishimoto doesn’t have it. BUT, the reason for the ‘maybe’, it doesn’t look like Mishimoto use any attachment in the center, so maybe it’s not necessary, idk.

I was going with CZP, and at the last sec (item in cart) noticed buried on the page that it doesn’t fit the NISMO.
Z1 says theirs (non-NISMO, obviously) doesn’t fit the NISMO.
I’m sticking with no-go for Mishimoto on the NISMO.
