Easily the best Part is the exterior design of the Z. It is truly pleasing to the eye from every angle you look at it from. The body and interior fit and finish are Fantastic in my opinion. The ergonomics of the interior are pleasing as well. Very comfortable to drive for me. As a sports car it is GT like for sure. The power and acceleration is indeed linear. My 2 Negatives. 1) The exhaust is to quiet as I prefer more feedback from exhaust noise when up/down shifting and accelerating. 2) There is a slight disconnected/floating feel at initial steering input. This is really hard to explain without being at the wheel. It will interesting to see what other owners think.

Let us know if you try a muffler delete. If I am able to get this car that’s the first thing I’m going to do unless I hear some negative input. The worst case scenario is if I don’t like it I can just put them off and back on or something else on the vehicle. What are your thoughts?

Honestly not thought about a delete. Could go that route I suppose.

If you still have it on the lift, unbolt that muffler and fire it up! Probably take 5 min. At least you could have a glimpse of what it would sound like.

You assessment is absolutely correct. I would be nice if there were magnetic dampers and the ride could be changed. At least one Sport Option. Exhaust/muffler change shouldn’t be a hard retrofit.

By the way, congrats, that is a really nice Z collection, especially at a time when these cars are all going extinct. Enjoy it.

As for the Z, those were my main two issues. I may eventually pick up a Z at some point but I may wait a bit to see if the market cools off on them.

In the meantime, I picked up a Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. They cost a bit more than the Z, but as long as you don't go crazy with options they can still be had in the low to mid $60s assuming you can snag one at MSRP. For the extra money though, it comes with a Tremec 6-speed with no-lift-shift, magnetic dampers, dual mode exhaust, 6 piston Brembos, Michelin PS4S tires and makes 472hp and 445lb ft. torque from its twin turbo V6. You can option out sunroof, HUD, PDR, Sport bucket seats ventilated and massage, suede, etc. but it gets pricey real quick. But as far as sports sedans go, it is much more fun to drive than an BMW M3 and a lot less expensive.

Just a note on the Nissan Nismo wheels that are shown in the Brochure. My dealer informed me that the ones available now are from the 370z stock and are 1/2 inch narrower than the Stock 23 Z wheels. So I am waiting for a Nissan update to see if they are manufacturing a newer version for the 23 Z. I am hoping soon. As I would like to see how she drives with a better tire.

I am certainly a fan of the Blackwings. Haven’t driven one yet but called my local dealer to request add to the CT5 list and never heard back . Ended up with the C8 instead. Now this Z. No more cars?

It is really cool to see Cadillac offer both a manual and auto in the Blackwings. The take rate for the manuals on the Blackwings is just over 40%, which is awesome. #savethemanuals

I did that, too, last year at EXtreme Driving in North Carolina. Also, a Porsche 911 GT3 and Ferrari. Loved all, but the GT3 the best.

The GT3 is on a whole other level. We will need to see how the Z06 compares. It sure does sound great.

I can attest to hard break ins also. Every 4G63 i've built has had a hard break in, no issues whatsoever. It properly seats everything. Especially when it comes to the A90 Supra, you need a hard break in to prevent the fabled oil consumption issues. I did a hard break in on mine, i'm at +30k miles, no oil consumption whatsoever. But then again, not forcing it on anyone, you do you.

When I bought my Evo back in '06 I was banging off the limiter going full fucking send during my test drive. 16 years later and my first build my stock engine looked GREAT (other than the damage from the snapped timing belt). Everything held together and I made more power stock than most other Evos I knew.

Can always appreciate the beautiful sounds a high revving 4G makes. ? grew up on 4G's and 1J/2J's, those are the only sounds i need in my life lol
