Interesting... I agree with @trackratZ, this kind of needs to be something with significant performance enhancements or it's quite the waste.
Also, isn't this just a *little* early to drop the NISMO variant? I read in the other Z forum that this is actually just the finished version of the Z...
That's correct, and I had considered that part but the Z has thus far not been included in that recall (at least not according to the NHSTA site). It may not be long before it is, however.
The hits just keep on coming. That stop-sale situation regarding the 9-speed transmission means that no vehicles so equipped will even be shipping from the Tochigi plant until the problem is remedied (in addition to any sales being halted for vehicles at any point in the delivery process)...
In some ways, I wish I liked these pony cars more - they're super-powerful, relatively inexpensive, and generally pretty reliable. There is just something...inherently cheesy about them. That in addition to them being soooo bloody common. Shame.
Oh, that's right, I had heard that! Yeah, Honda's being incredibly tight-lipped on that project, if we assume there's truth to the speculation.
More sports cars = good times ?
I think that is what the article mentions, too. I'm going to go out on a fairly steady limb and say that Honda has zero plans for it, then. At least Toyota's more recent (and similar) concept looks like it has a more realistic chance ?
Well, not really. It's a hybrid. The Top Gear write-up mentioned that, specifically:
"The N Vision 74 also features a 62.4kWh battery, which can be rapid-charged from the mains. So, it's an electric car first, but when the battery starts to run flat, the hydrogen fuel cell can kick in to extend...
This thing categorically makes me happy. Fills me with hope that the electric car market will not be a barren wasteland of bubble-shaped crossover vehicles. ?
Oh, the Sentra is putrid, to be sure. Not sure why Nissan refuses to marry the best of their assets in a single offering like, say, the new Z. That might have been a good strategy...
Operative word was "relative," firstly, as in compared to other sports cars one might encounter in the US. Think Mustang, think Camaro, think MX-5, think Corvette, even think 911. You get the idea.
And, even living in Naples (where seemingly every car is a sports car, an exotic car, or a high...
I like the relative exclusivity of a Z, and I suspect this one will be no different despite its very appealing styling.
It isn't to say that one will not see Zs on the road, but they're just uncommon enough that you kind of feel compelled to acknowledge one another when you spot a kindred...
Z often proves itself the exception within Nissan's portfolio, in both good ways and head-scratching ways. Like, they have recently made some fairly impressive strides in terms of interior design & materials but that doesn't really seem to have translated to the Z (at least not yet).
This is a...
Did anyone else see this?
Looks like this was just a design study (explaining why it looks somewhat "unfinished" and highly conceptual) but Honda should totally produce some kind of small sports car.
