Yep, it's the tires. Installing Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02s cured that to a large extent. You have to seriously provoke it to break those loose on the street (at least on the factory tune).
Stock Z + stickier tires = surprisingly quick from a dig (assuming you have decent launch technique).
Even while being a bit derisive, Car & Driver and Motor Trend acknowledged that traction was holding the car back more than power. Now, some of that is due to the softer suspension setup on...
Well, this was bound to happen. Not too bad, though I feel like they could have maybe gone a bit further with some unique details.
What do we think?

You will absolutely be fine, the factory rubber was a gross miscalculation on the Z. The vehicle drives completely differently with quality tires (Conti ExtremeContacts, PS4s seem especially well-suited).
Hmmm, I a) wasn't aware that one could change the colors for the shift indicator (I figured it always went green-yellow-red) and b) I'm not sure what this "secret menu" is or what it would do...
Definitely, I'm going to mess with it endlessly in the garage this evening prior to storming in there ?
I really appreciate the suggestions, folks here are extremely supportive of the community and it's something to be proud of and thankful for ?
Well, the tachometer is functioning perfectly in every mode, so I don't imagine it's a sensor related to RPM detection or it'd be impacting that as well. It really seems to be strictly a display issue and only pertaining to that exact animation feature. It's very strange.
I may go the battery disconnect route if I can't get it to turn back on. Thankfully, the image I shared isn't mine so it's not the case that the car believes it is constantly being run at redline - it just won't animate at all, no green, no, yellow, no red.
Here's an odd one I wonder if anyone has experienced - the shift indicator bar atop the screen in the Sport gauge view has suddenly stopped working. It is still visible but it will no longer perform its intended animation. I checked the settings, and it's still set the way I had it (goes red at...
I had them installed last week so they're still breaking in but the difference is already enormous, particularly with my driving style. I've used them before (well, the original ExtremeContact Sports) and had actually forgotten how much I liked them, overall. I've been all over the map with tire...
Yep, OEM sizes. I considered going 285 on the rears but decided against it. It really cannot be overstated how much traction holds this vehicle back from the factory.
