Found the problem you all need to be looking out for. The hood is indeed misaligned. Look at the gap between left and right side

I just checked mine in the garage and popped the hood. It doesn't pivot there it actually comes up and over that corner with around a 1/4 inch of clearance
Likewise. Seems to be a fair amount of clearance on mine. Mine is an early build. June 22.

I got a March 22 build and don’t have this issue yet.

so its weird I just opened my hood very slowly and it didnt rub ( even though on one side you couldnt stick a piece of paper in the gap) so its almost like the clearances change depending on how you open to hood. this is why it could be hit or miss for some people

Is that piece metal?
If so, try bending it down a bit. It looks high.

It's reminiscent of the 350Z where the fender in that same area did not line up with the hood. Fender just needed a slight bend to line up.

Not seeing any damage on mine. I have no idea on my build date either though - where do I find this info lol

so I did some troubleshooting on this today where I would raise the hood very slowly and depending on where I grabbed it and put tension you could hear the back of the hood slightly rub the rubber that is part of that plastic piece for the A pillar. when I heard this I could move my hand to the other side of center of the hood and that would slightly I guess change the angle and it would clear

so it seems for some of these cars the clearances are so tight its kind of hit or miss on it rubbing all depending on how you open it.

Mine's a Dec 2022 build, and no sign of it so far.

Also, I need a car wash.

Is the shape of the plastic A-pillar base different on mine? The corner looks less sharp. Or am I imagining this?

Do you have a tiny spec missing or is that dirt/wax residue. Just asking as on one of my sides I've got a tiny line that looks like that from rubbing

OMG, @MCN1SMO, thanks for freaking me out. This must be a reflection of the overhead lights, but I had to head out to the garage and look at this from all angles to make sure.

haha yeah im real fun at parties ? but no seriously glad its nothing and like I said its weird that mine doesnt do it all the time its how you open it. so it might never happen again. Probably won't happen to most but everyone reading this thread should just keep it in mind and me just sling open your hood

This has been my new best friend all week. Those little corner spots touched up perfect the first time.

But I've spent 3 days working on a hood chip
