Looks like performance models get a new set of shocks. This will be a nice simple upgrade for folks with pre 2026 performance models. Looks like they are addressing some of the damping issues, def excited to see how the reviews are, then might be worth the upgrade.

yup if you go back to the first couple pages of this thread I posted the JDM press release slide show that goes into detail about the dampening changes

this is where the fuel tank redesign is mentioned. literally been an issue since the 350

Fuel tank revisions on the full Z lineup help maintain consistent performance during aggressive track driving.

More interested in the fuel tank upgrades, if easily adapted to my ā€˜25, will greatly help on track!!

Looks like Nissan is listening to fix/upgrade shortcomingsšŸ‘šŸ‘

im also curious to know if they redesigned the saddle bag style tank or did they just add like a baffle system or like the after market surge tanks additions? would be hard for me to believe they abandoned the saddle bag design completely as they would require a major rework wouldnt it?

I never really had an issue with it because I would always try to track with half to 3/4 tank but thats not always possible or convenient

From the Nissan Press Kit:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The iconic Nissan Z receives a comprehensive refresh for 2027, headlined by the introduction of a six-speed manual transmission and GT‑R-derived brakes for the 420-horsepower, track-ready Z NISMO. Coupled with a fresh design and new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic paint option for Z Sport and Performance grades, the Z continues to drive excitement for its passionate fans.
"We've listened to everything Nissan Z fans and owners have been asking for, and we're answering the call with the most exhilarating, driver-focused version of the seventh-generation Z yet," said Marco Fioravanti, vice president, product planning, Nissan U.S. and Canada. "The six-speed manual in Z NISMO was specifically engineered for a pure and focused experience, while targeted handling and braking upgrades give more consistent and more capable track performance."
The 2027 Nissan Z reaches Nissan dealerships this summer, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
Enthusiasts heard: Z NISMO manual arrives
The 2027 Nissan Z NISMO adds an available six-speed manual transmission, complementing its NISMO-enhanced engine, suspension, braking and bodywork. The new transmission was specifically engineered for the NISMO grade, with an upgraded clutch compared to Z Sport and Performance. A new shift lever ratio results in a much shorter shift stroke, rewarding drivers with quicker, more solid-feeling gear changes.
Manual-specific tuning for the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 adjusts the throttle and ignition timing control for sharper, more aggressive throttle response and a more sustained torque delivery – all intended to deliver satisfying, powerful acceleration for Z NISMO manual drivers.
The car's Active Sound Enhancement and Active Noise Cancellation systems are similarly retuned for the manual transmission, with the technology dramatically amplifying intake and exhaust tones in Sport mode.
NISMO dynamic enhancements
The 2027 Nissan Z NISMO benefits from continuous improvements that deliver more capable and more consistent performance. Its front brakes now use a two-piece, iron-aluminum brake rotor derived from the legendary Nissan GT‑R. Their improved cooling channels dramatically reduce brake pad temperatures in track use, while their lightweight construction saves a total of 19 pounds.
Z NISMO's suspension has been retuned to account for this reduction in front-end weight. Additionally, revisions to the steering rack have reduced internal friction by 20% for a more fluid cornering sensation that requires fewer driver corrections.
Refreshed design for Z Sport, Performance
The Nissan Z Sport and Performance wear a restyled front bumper and grille for 2027, inspired by classic Nissan sports cars. A body-color bar bisects the car's grille opening, while a new "Z" emblem replaces the Nissan logo on its nose. Careful shaping of the bumper, grille and internal ducting optimize cooling airflow, while reducing aerodynamic lift and drag.
Z Performance has redesigned, forged 19-inch wheels with black spokes and a machined-finish rim. It is also offered with a new tan interior upholstery option, comprising the seating surfaces, lower door panels, center console and dashboard.
A new wireless device charger offers faster, more consistent charging performance. Available on Z Performance and NISMO, Qi2 wireless charging features a cooling fan to help manage device heat, and magnetic alignment to keep compatible devices optimally positioned. Its 15‑watt maximum output is now supported by a wider range of devices.
The 2027 Nissan Z adds a striking Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic paint option, paired exclusively with a Super Black roof. The new color was inspired by the green seen on the classic S30-generation Nissan Z sports car, yet modernized with a fine-grain, green-tinted pearl effect that creates dramatic light and shadow effects in the sunlight.
Continuous enhancements for Z handling
Nissan engineers also refined the ride and handling of Z Performance, using larger-diameter monotube shock absorbers. The new shock absorbers improve vibration dampening, resulting in smoother ride quality and more consistent, more predictable handling performance.
All 2027 Nissan Z models have a new fuel tank design that helps maintain fuel levels around the fuel pump during high-G cornering. This helps deliver more consistent fuel delivery and engine performance during sustained, high-speed track cornering.
The 2027 Nissan Z lineup, including the Z NISMO manual, is scheduled to arrive at Nissan dealerships in summer 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
For details on all features and equipment, see the full 2027 Nissan Z specifications sheet.

I’m more curious on how they mentioned the manual Nismo getting improved throttle response mapping and torque delivery. I’ve been asking that for a while lmao. I hope they revise the performance’s throttle response and let us reflash our ECUs at the dealer as an upgrade. That would help tremendously

Wow that’s actually annoying if they don’t bring that to the performance M/Ts of previous model years. That’s exactly what we’ve been asking and it wouldn’t take long for them to send out an update.
