Thank you for all the pictures! Good call on wrapping your downpipes. I'll probably do the same, and also the AWE near the rear diff since it looks rather tight, along with near the emissions solenoid to avoid having to relocate that with their goofy adapter/hose.

I have a Stillen rear swaybar to get installed while the exhaust is off, too.

I have the AWE Touring sitting in my garage still in the box. Before I install it... Had anyone has any regrets with it? I love the tone/sound, but am a bit concerned the volume may be excessive being a dual-3.0" setup (perhaps dual-2.5" would be better?). How is the highway driving? Capable of having a conversation and/or phone call over the Bluetooth?

Thanks in advance!
I have same AWE exhaust and already removed it. It was a bit too much drone for my taste. Even the stock system has noticeable drone that is just magnified by this exhaust. Maybe my ears are just too sensitive now. However, all my other cars have aftermarket exhaust that don't bother me. Those are V8s though. It was difficult getting mid pipe to fit without hitting the cross brace. I ended up hammering flat spots to make sure it did not rattle. Plus, as others have mentioned, the right-side tip does not fit the bumper as well as left side. I did encounter a check engine light due to the evap relocation kit they provide. That was what ultimately made me remove it. I think for mostly stock set up, the dual 3" is way overkill. The old big block muscle cars used to get dual 3" as an upgrade. I have considered trying to make and adapter to allow me to use the AWE front and mid pipes, but stock muffler. Just have not found a cheap factory pipe to cut up yet.

Our Touring Edition system does not drone. Did you contact our service and support team for a resolution?

We also offer a perfect fitment guarantee, designing these parts in-house here in Horsham, PA. We do all of our own fabrication work, mostly by hand welding components.

The welding comes after an extensive R&D process involving 3D scanning tools, extensive mockups, and rigorous sound testing. Hammering our exhaust tubing will NEVER be needed to ensure fit, and the tips are also adjustable.

If you want a raw, race style experience, the Track Edition is VERY rowdy, but OP should truly enjoy the Touring Edition system because of the 180 Technology.

For current and future AWE customers, there’s no shortage of resources available to help along the way:

Warranty Info / Fitment Guarantee
FAQs
and of course, my DM's are always open..

Sounds like user error on the install and hyper sensitivity to perceived drone.

I second this, mine installed perfectly, and tips were perfect.

Mine installed easily, and the tips were centered perfectly, just took a proper install. You need to finesse the factory hanger on the right side, and the tip looked great. I don't understand about the drone, because I would argue this car rides like a Lexus on the HWY in my MT6. What I like best about the AWE is that is fits great, doesn't drone and really only get's loud in WOT.

I have an Automatic Sport trim. This drive train drones at 1700-2100 rpm which is right where the needle sits when going 75-85 on the highway in 9th gear. This will obviously not be a problem for manual transmissions on the highway, if it has the same noise in that rpm range.

For me, the stock exhaust was rather unbearable. The AWE Touring is significantly better but the same drone in the same range is still present. I suspect it is caused by the turbos since the noise instantly goes away when you let off the gas.

Not a super scientific measurement, but I took screenshots of a phone app:

Wow, that is super interesting, thank you for sharing that! It appears than the AT runs about 1k RPM lower than the MT at ~80 MPH (I think 83. MPH is 3k RPM).

I just read another thread this morning about auto vs manual exhausts. Apparently the Auto muffler is smaller (and thus louder), and the mid pipes have resonators. Mildly popular option is to install an Auto muffler on Manual midpipes for better sound.

... I still have my stock Auto exhaust. Should probably list it ferdabois.

I wonder if your ideal setup would be AT midpipe + MT muffler?
