AMS isn't making a kit to my knowledge but CZP is with the Garrett 550's but I don't know about the torque curve they said it would outperform the Z1 turbos in terms of power though

Thanks everyone for info on the turbos. I'm planning on the VRX60's and want 600+. I had a Z1 modified 370Z and got 513 RWHP.

I overlaid two dyno charts from Z1 to get as close to "bone stock vs VRX60B" as I could.

Looks like replacing stock turbos with VRX60B is a loss until about 3400 RPM. After that, hold onto your hat!

*I double-checked the charts to make sure I replicated them as precisely as possible. Guessing maybe a +/-5 margin of error. Let me know if I've fouled something up.*

They don't have a chart for the VRX80B.
It appears the VRX70B crosses over slightly after the 60B, call it 3650.
WHP: VRX70B exceeds stock around 3500 and exceeds the VRX60B around 3550
WTQ: VRX70B exceeds stock around 3700 and exceeds the VRX60B around 3875

BLUE = Stock
ORANGE = VRX60B
GREEN = VRX70B

EDIT: These were manually generated based on actual dyno charts from Z1, so they're not dead-on-balls accurate, but very close.

The AvG torque is probably up 45-55 and power more so.

im gonna nitpick bc we can't see over 4,000RPM lol. These graphs make the stock turbos look like they aren't too bad

Although I'd like to see the 80B as well, the gains over stock are ridiculous after that point (about 175 hp at 4K between stock and the 70B).

I assumed there was a crossover, so I studied the charts and logged the numbers at diff RPMs (stock and VRX60B), not planning to post anything. I was amazed at the low RPM HP/TQ delta from stock. Not uncommon for the curves to shift to the right for 'larger' turbos, but they were further apart than I assumed. Then I wanted to see it charted, and it looked like I got it right so I shared.

Not dogging Z1, or anyone that wants to upgrade/change. Some people may not realize that spending $5K on new turbos may be a detriment to normal daily driving and for those who don't live in the higher RPMs. The difference between stock and the 60B at 2750 is about 60hp and 125tq.
If overall power is your game then it's a no-brainer.

If this is going to be the experience for all kits I really hope someone explores the use of a smaller turbo and then a larger turbo instead of two of the same size. Not sure if that's possible with our platform

I think the turbos are a good size. They do seem a little laggy when punching it from low RPM...but I don't know enough to really judge. Turbo'd an NA 1.6L decades ago and was making really good numbers. Swapped to a smaller turbo and it was night and day. It was so small sitting on the counter of the ship it was embarrassing, but it made a little more power (tuning) and the torque hit way earlier. Increased my gas mileage as well (did it right, and had a good tuner). Unfortunately, cars these days aren't as simple to tinker with and swap things out like they used to be.

The VRX60s will trade the lower rpm band for better performance mid-range. The wtq at 6k is up 150wtq over stock. Power almost 200whp at 7k

It's interesting because you'll see very different graphs from AMS, Sonic (in my humble opinion the leading tuners for the new Z) than Z1.
