Okay yeah, I agree they are not big brakes. But they are track capable brakes. If you look up the fluid temp range for RBF 600 and the Carbotech pads you'll see you're well within temp range. Not sure about what rotors you used though, but even stock one piece rotors are fine around that temp - granted you said those readings were after you pulled off, pit, and chilled in the paddock

While we're on the topic of you can find Castrol SRF within it's two year life span and don't mind the price I'd say consider it for next time!
I also use 2pc rotors with steel lines and master cylinder brace. With the stock rotors, pads, and fluid I experienced brake fade and didn't feel confident braking into corners.

Pretty sure the issue was the pads and fluids for you. No fade on akebono calipers and rotors with xp10/8 and motul 660. Everyone on the 370z forums recommend at a minimum upgrade the pads and fluids

Oh yeah I agree. The upgrades served me well. Just thinking that if I were to really send it and try to brake as late as possible into the apex I don't know how well the Akebonos will hold up over time. They're track-capable street calipers.

I can see where you're coming from. Have you read up on how larger brakes won't stop you any quicker? They mostly handle heat better. Seems tires help you brake faster than larger brakes. I found that math very interesting (not the actual math, but the results lol)
