More importantly- what issues have you experienced in 30K miles? How many years to get to that milage?

YES, Perhaps someone should start a thread where anything actually serious is tracked.

You can also report serious issues that affect safety to NTHSA yourself. They say the Z’s Driver Assistance & Saftey features “meet performance characteristics”.

There’s a database of reported issues. I find only 1 reported complaint for ALL years of the RZ34 Nissan Zs. It’s a hood popper deployment on a 2023 Z.

As a comparison, my family owns a Honda Pilot where there are 7 Investigations and 678 complaints. Probably there are fewer Zs on the road, but so far just a few recalls and 1 complaint is good.

I don’t consider recalls or when Nissan fix a problem under warranty to be a potentially serious problem. Provided the owner goes to a Dealership to address it.

Only things I know about are:
  1. A minor bumper harness issue affecting some cars. Covered under a recall.
  2. The “hood poppers” although I have yet to hear of one that just deployed without hitting something directly. Hitting something small in the road or going over a bump shouldn’t cause poppers to deploy. Which has reportedly happed with other manufacturers (Jag, maybe others too).
  3. The car can lose the back-end. It’s happened to me ( in the wet) but I didn’t lose control of the car or spin. This is common for light RWD cars with a lot of torque. It’s why the VTC and all the traction control is there. I consider it driver error.
There may be more items, but I haven’t found reports of major mechanical issues. There have been complaints on the same VR30DDTT engines (Q50 +). But they have been addressed in the Z to my knowledge.
Thanks for the reply Brother, The reason I asked is because I haven't had any issues worth reporting. I gotta say, most of the issues I read about here is a matter of personal opinion opposed to actual inop/failure conditions. I love owning a car where most of the complaints have nothing to do with out right drivetrain, electric/electronic failure. This is not to be confused with, I don't like how the stereo/exhaust sounds or is this seat uncomfortable to u guys. In my case it's because I spend too much time in the feeding bucket. As far as the 30k goes I bought it out right in Nov 23. 90% of the miles is driving a beautiful car with a beautiful woman sitting next to me going as fast and far as I can without getting caught by the wife or law enforcement.

This is a good one. Not saying his issue was oil pressure, but Nissan’s decision to delete the ability to monitor oil pressure on the NISMO is very odd.
At a minimum, they should make it available to toggle in and out of the 4-gauge cluster. Currently has 4 fluid temps: coolant, engine oil, diff and trans.

In terms of best initial quality vehicles I've owned, I'd put the Z & C8 Corvette at the top of the list.
C8 at the top of the list? It’s one of the cars when it comes to quality control about the same as Mustang.

Agree, I almost bought one till I met an owner at a cars and coffee and he kindly informed me of all the quality control issues, from brakes, seat material quality, dash fabric separation, random tranny codes that come and go. So far no issues with my Z., I did my research and got a vale sports car with my mind made of of what the car is not what I wanted it to be. No regrets

My C8 was flawless; zero issues from a reliability or QC standpoint. Huge leap forward from the C7 in that regard.

I guess you are lucky. 2 of my coworkers own C8s and they both had problems. One had to replace transmission.
I think c8 is more of a garage queen, a car that you only drive once in a while unless you are ready to drop some major cash on the repairs after the warranty. I was thinking about buying c8 but the problems with the transmissions I’ve been told about scares me.
But I’m glad your c8 is solid.

Was :)
Sold it after a little over 3 years/24k miles. It was just never as fun or engaging as the C7 (which I kept for 7 years/60k miles). The Z to me is a hybrid between the C7 & S2k.

Looking at the internals of the VR30DDTT , that engine is never going to make big power outputs...AND survive!!
I think Nissan have gone backwards from the previous VG and VQ V6,s of past !!

I think that statement is too general. I’ve owned a 350Z, a 1995 Z32 TT, and now a 2024 Nissan Z. The VR30 is clearly the better motor, and it’s not close.

The VG was great in its time, but once you push past 350 RWHP, the turbos become a real weak point. The Z32’s 3.0L twin-turbo setup is heavy and only makes around 280 RWHP stock. With a tune and FBO, you’re looking at roughly 350 RWHP at best. To go further, you need turbos, injectors, intercoolers, fuel pump, and a clutch. Getting to 500 RWHP is expensive.

The VR30, on the other hand, makes about 380 RWHP stock. With FBO and E30, it’s knocking on the door to 500 RWHP with ease, and that’s a safe, reliable number. After owning a VG for over 20 years, I’d take the VR30 every time.
