I have an order for the upcoming 2026/2027 Nismo here in Aus...having just joined the forum and reading a lot i am not overly thrilled with the amount of "issues" from owners .!!

Ranging from what it seems could be potentially serious to ........... "it shouldn't happen" QC,s issues. A little concerning to say the least.

What do current owners overall , think ?

Main thing is that a lot of people come to forums like this to ask about and discuss negative issues they’re experiencing. That, along with the fact (assumption?) that almost everyone here is male, and you’re not going to get a bunch of dudes gushing about how much they love their cars every day, even if they do, skews the overall view MUCH further toward the negative than it actually is.

Imagine you start a forum called ā€œMy Perfect Wifeā€ and how quickly that would turn negative. My wife IS perfect. And I would mention that - on occasion. But what you would mainly hear from me is how she doesn’t squeeze the toothpaste out correctly and how she has ZERO desire to neatly tear aluminum foil off the roll. We’ll say she’s 99.9% perfect. That’s 1 negative to 999 positives. Way more than 1 of every 1,000 comments Would be negative. But underneath, the truth is she is still 99.9% perfect.

My Z has about 6,500 miles on it and I LOVE IT! Every day leaving work i see it and think, ā€œWow, I can.t believe that’s actually mine!ā€

I believe I’ve only had one issue with the car, and that’s the hatch weatherstripping shifting out of position. posted here, and maybe 2 others have noticed that. Regardless, easy fix with a few hidden dots of adhesive.

Other that that, I’ve complained about the sound system being sub-par (not everyone agrees). The way it oddly stays in 3rd longer than normal sometimes (normal, just odd). And that it didnā€˜t come with remote start (I’m in Florida, so you could bake cookies in the car some days). None of these are actual issues with the car.

If you summarized my comments here about my car you would think it’s a net negative, but that’s absolutely not the case.

You’re gonna love it!!!

You won’t have any issues. I’ve owned allot of cars, and I’m very surprised by the quality of the the Z’s build. The panel gaps, paint, and general assembly was phenomenal. I feel like they put the A team on the z, I have had my car about 9 months and put on 4k miles and don’t have a single complaint, with the exception of the tires. I really wish the z had better tires, other then that, the cars been a dream.

Hey OP, here is a list of my experiences. Would I call them issues, yes and no. These are just items I feel are worth addressing.

For context, I have a 2024 Nismo - Passion Red. Located in the USA.

1) the paint is not strong, chips easily. I would recommend a full car protective wrap and ceramic coating.
2) trunk hatch rattles due to low resistance on the popper springs. I upgraded the hatch release springs and the rattle went away.
3) the Bose sub is sub-par. Upgraded with a replacement spare-tire sub for better bass.
4) Reverse camera sucks. Upgraded to one that is s higher resolution.
5) added Nismo intakes because I want those sweet sweet turbo noises. (I am a 5 year old at heart.)

Now, here's the sensitive list. The issues I have seen people discuss but I have personally not experienced.

1) Parking proximity sensors harness fails in the front bumper. Factory NSB coverage.
2) Oil pressure solenoid failure. Could lead to self destructive engine. I would assume it will be covered under warranty for anyone that it applies to.

I font know if there is a list on the forum of issues and links to topics, but definitely look through the forums and Facebook groups. Lots of good people in the community who are knowledgeable and happy to help.

Agree with the above. This is my first Nissan and I've been very surprised with the build quality, QC, etc. I haven't had anything that needs warranty attention. In terms of best initial quality vehicles I've owned, I'd put the Z & C8 Corvette at the top of the list.

Right now Nissan is leading the industry in terms of initial build quality and among the brands with the fewest amount of warranty repair claims. Part of this is because they're not pushing the edge with the newest technology, rather perfecting what they already have. Take the infotainment system for example, it's not the most modern or gorgeous, but it's absolutely the least glitchy & buggy!

Have had my 24 nismo for 7500 miles. Has been tuned for 5000 of them and thankfully no crazy issues so far. Change oil every 2-3000 miles. Only real thing I notice is the front sensors go haywire if there’s frost of dirt on them and a dash vibration but that’s stuff I can deal with haha.

A lot of these issues or complaints here are very subjective in my opinion. The back up camera resolution isn’t the greatest but it gets the job done, here’s a hint use your mirrors too. Hatch not opening all the way is annoying and like many have posted there is a fix that’s my next upgrade. I also swapped the OEM ties out too they were terrible went with Continental and there is a night and day difference in handling. Since I’m not an audiophile Bose system doesn’t bother me. I do have one pet peeve why doesn’t it come with an option of a HUD on Performance or NISMO? They (Nissan) have lesser models with it and they couldn’t equip the Z with one that was a misstep in my opinion.

I own a 26 Heritage and love it. There are several things that I can point that would have been better, however none of them are deal breakers. For me the Z has the most value of any true sports car in the market, don’t listen to the haters or those with buyers remorse as it may sway your decision thus robbing you of enjoying a beautiful well built Z.

I have a 24 Performance that that I bought in October of 2024... coming up on 18k on the clock. I daily mine.

Only LEGITIMATE complaint: No Remote Start.

The rest are just trivial bullshit you'll find wrong on any car on the planet if you drive it enough. The rear camera? Yeah it sucks but you're not watching a movie on it, you're backing up for 12 seconds and you have mirrors and sensors.

The sound system... pfsh. Go get a luxury car, not a sports car.

I LOVE THIS CAR. My only legit personal complaint.... it's not a full sized truck... I have had sports cars as toys, but I have to keep reminding myself I have to call a friend now if I need to pick something big up from the hardware store.... at least until my 53 f100 is done, lol.
, lol.

I bought a 2025 Nismo - Passion Red. I live in CA. I have owned 4 Datsuns - all of them 240Zs. And also the 370Z Nismo, which gave me years of motoring without major issues.
I think the Nismo group put a lot of expert engineering into the upgrades they made to the Z. It’s been evolution and not revolution. Which I think is a good thing. Nissan solved almost every criticism I had with the previous model. The driver assistance alone make it worth owning over the 370Z - which had fixed cruise control only. But the RZ34 is still a ā€˜driver focused’ car when you want it to be.

Yes, I could have waited for the manual Nismo… maybe. But it wasn’t announced officially when I purchased mine. As I’m older, I like the AT- and the 9AT shifts way faster than I ever could in the 370Z. And gets better gas milage. I would describe the Nissan 6MT as clunky or notchy but the Nismo will have better Synchros and an external clutch slave- so a better clutch setup than on the 370Z Nismo. Anyway that’s a concern to me so for now- I’m keeping what I have.

In 10 months on the road it’s been a great car. More of a GT But also a capable track car. My only issues were:
  • I didn’t like the ā€˜flat kit’ so got a spacesaver spare, jack & tools. It made the sub sound better anyway.
  • There’s a lot of road noise. Noticeably better than on the 370Z Nismo, and it gets even better with Kilmat - or any Sound Deadening mat.
  • It will get even quieter soon with the right tire setup, as the Dunlops are a poor choice. I prefer Conti ECS or Michelin. Quiet and better handling. So Nissan dropped the ball there.
  • The default configs you get with the dash displays are only adequate. But that is a software upgrade Nissan could address.
The positives have far outweighed the negative things listed. Yes, there are minor tweaks here & there, but nothing you can’t address.

On this forum we are very critical of these cars… as we should be for the money we have spent on them. That’s the reason you see so many negative things here. Best wishes with your purchase, I would shop around, but it’s not a bad choice. It’s a rare beast to see on the road, and personally (as a previous Z owner & fan) I love the styling.

tl;dr The RZ34 Nismo is a capable car, fun to drive and with many upgrades from the previous model. Sorry I wrote a novel.

I enjoy mine, I only have two minor gripes.
1) parking brake needs adjustment. I just haven’t gotten to that yet.
2) handling could be improved, mainly better tires will help with that.
again, just haven’t gotten to that.

5) added Nismo intakes because I want those sweet sweet turbo noises. (I am a 5 year old at heart.)

1) Parking proximity sensors harness fails in the front bumper. Factory NSB coverage.
5) Interested in why you added Nismo intakes. Are the stock Nismo air boxes the same as on other models? Thanks.

1) The parking harness was a mistake that only affected a small number of cars. It’s not a recall with the current Nismos.
