Z Nismo front brake pads near VIR

Am I seeing it correctly? Does Carbotech now have XP12 pads for the front and rear of our Z Nismo's?!?
If so, that's great! But they are very expensive. Are there any stores that offer free lifetime replacement for Carbotech, like the Ferodo pads? That would be great if they did.

Yeah, they are literally over 4x more expensive than the OE pads so they better last 4x as long. I planning to do at least 1 day in my Nismo this year, my plan is to bring an extra set of OE pads with me, they are super easy to change.

That’s what I was starting to think. As long as the OE pads don’t start to fade, then it might just be worth replacing the OE pads constantly since they are easy and very cheap.

I sent my pads into them back in december so I could get some proper pads for my next track day. I wasn't sure if they were going to offer it up for sale to everyone, but it looks like they came through!

Yeah... I'm not 100% sure i'm going to use them. Carbotech recommends having them resurfaced at the minimum but I figured on the off chance something is wrong and they find a crack in one of my rotors I need to have a backup ready because chances are i'd have to order at least the front ones

How did the PS4S compare to the stock Dunlops on the track?
And if you go with the Continentals, they don't have OEM sizes, so what size will you use?

Never got a chance to try the Dunlops on track honestly. The ps4s were fine but I could tell that I could chew them up quickly over 2 days and that was a big motivator for me getting my apex wheels for a dedicated track set. As for the ECF tires I went with 265/35 up front and 295/30 in back. It's going to ride about half an inch lower but other than that it should be okay but i'll confirm that for you tomorrow when I get the tires put on. That 255/40 size up front is a weird one, there really aren't a whole lot of 200tw track focused tires available for it except the ad09 and a couple others but bumping up that one size opens it up to pretty much all of them. In hindsight I'm not sure why I didn't start with those stock dunlops for a track set since I have experience driving on them already from when I first got the car.

Yes, I saw that the options are very limited. I'm not sure what to put on once the OEM tires wear out. The OEM Dunlops seemed to hold up ok for the 2 track days that I have so far. No chunking, or anything weird, and they seem to be wearing evenly. And I was definitely happy with the dry traction (wet wasn't that good).
I may just stick with the OEM, unless someone can confirm that there is definitely a better option in the OEM size (unless I decide to experiment myself). The only current properly sized tires that I think I like, are the ADV09 and the PS4S. I was considering the PS4S because I have a lot of experience with those, and they are amazing in the wet. Unfortunately, it seems like I wind up in the rain on track days at least 30% of the time, lol

I can tell you that I now have 5 track days on my OEM Dunlops, and they are holding up well. They are wearing evenly. It looks like I will get 1 or maybe 2 more days out of the fronts and can probably push the rears for another 2 or 3 days. A member from the forum was kind enough, and awesome enough to give me 3 of his 4 tires (one had a blowout so he went a different route and changed all 4), and they are in very good shape, so I will probably order 1 rear tire, and use the Dunlops again. However, after those wear out, I will be in the same position to decide on those vs. the AD09's again.
