How did you not see a difference with your Trucontrol? It's literally night and day.
It’s a different car 😂 I have awe touring catback, mishimoto intakes, ams race lower downpipes and the stillen TruControl set to the highest setting. No codes, no hesitation, nothing. It juts runs, and real fast. When I got the exhaust and intakes done they revised the tuning over the air . I’ll be data logging the car next week just to see what going on behind the curtain and report back.

Many tuners will recommend you get a tune with LDP. Even though they should not have a CEL you run the possibility of over boost especially when running larger diameter or free flowing exhaust.

I would not run them without tuning and there is not a piggyback tuning that accounts for LDP's that I have seen. When companies say "should", "may" and "*" when asked about additional mods over stock you are running at your own risk.

I'm intake only at this point, and haven't seriously considered LDPs or exhaust. And upper or full LDPs haven't crossed my mind specifically because I know a tune would be necessary.

This "tune or no tune for LDP" debate could get spicy like engine oil debates. Intake, LDPs and exhaust is pushing the no-tune boundary based on community info/norms...or at least what people type. But if people are running that stuff with no codes, warnings, etc. then is it truly necessary?
On the flip-side, how safe is a tune? Is there a chance something could get weird specifically because someone went in and changed OEM settings?
That's a legitimate question BTW, if anyone cares to comment. I actually don't know how safe/reliable tunes are, or different types of tunes (remote, on dyno, etc...).

It really depends on the type of tune and what you’re trying to achieve. I’m tuned by Sonic, and Mark genuinely knows what he’s doing and cares about his clients’ cars. If he thinks something isn’t right with your car, he’ll let you know. He’s tuned someone running a full catless setup who’s been driving on that same tune for 40k miles and is still going strong.

I also ran lower downpipes without a tune for almost a year and a half without any overboost issues or other problems, and I have datalogs to back it up. At the end of the day, it depends on your setup and who’s tuning your car.

I think if you're going to run LDP's without a tune and have no desire to later go big turbo it should be the 2.5 inch type LDP's as those are not a huge difference over stock like a 3 inch. I would think a 3 inch LDP+exhaust has a higher chance of over-boost issues

Of course a tuner is going to recommend you get a tune. It's money in their pocket.

That would be like going to a Chevy dealership and the salesman tells you to go across the street and buy a Ford. It would never happen.

I'm catless LDPS, Stillen cat back, Z1 drop in filters and Stillen Trucontrol for 9000 miles. Zero issues and have never overboosted
