I have a question, what trickle charger should I be using for 2023 Z?

You want a battery tender that controls the charge level and not just a trickle charger. I use a Battery Tender Plus on all my cars in winter storage. You need to make sure it comes with a ring terminal harness (preferably) or alligator clips, +/- an extender cable if necessary. The 12V ports in this car are shut down as soon as the engine is turned off and can't be used for a battery tender device.

Thanks, can you tell me the one you use so I can look it up?

I have multiple BT's. I know other people like the Porsche battery maintainers but they're pricey and I've never been able to get them working correctly.

I use this brand battery tender on my 240 & my 2017 Silverado that I don’t drive much. I have also used it on other classic cars throughout the years having owned about 6 of them at one time. I have included pics of the alligator clips and the direct connection to the battery. Personally, I would not consider the Porsche charger. 75% of the cost is the Porsche name. The tender MC posted looks like a good one also. Bottom line, get a decent one that will do the job for you.

I am looking to do this. What should I use to keep the hood slightly propped up while it is charging?

Here in Minnesota, I have a large number of seasonal vehicles that require a battery float charger either in summer or winter. I must have 20 of them. I've used simple Battery Tenders for decades and they work great. Most of those vehicles have an attached pigtail just to simplify the connection. I don't bother to prop the hood on any of them...the amount of hydrogen that's elaborated is minuscule once the battery is charged.

Some have advised that the battery be removed and stored in a warm area. That's unnecessary, even here, since a fully charged battery won't freeze until about minus 50 degrees F. Some also say not to store on a concrete floor....also an old wive's tale.
