Nissans going to find the going tough in Aus unless they produce a great car below 80k…because even at that price you can almost buy 2 86s for the same cost
and I must admit, they look pretty good

That should make for an interesting series of videos. Curious to see what kind of improvement they end up squeezing out of it without compromising the daily drivability.
If you get a chance to sit inside it, let us know what you think of the gear shifting. I found it to be extremely stiff and notchy to the point that if it drives like that it would be a deal-killer. Folks on the FT86 forum say it frees up in motion, but my current MT car isn't much different cold or warm, running or stationary.A dealer down here is FINALLY getting a manual one in late April (the first I've seen make it down to this market, boggles my brain cells) and I've asked to let me know when it rolls in so I can check it out. It's white, and a Premium model to boot, so really curious how they are in person.
Well on this part of the forum, you're allowed to talk about other cars...hence "other cars". Otherwise this forum would be a ghost town with Nissan being so quiet. LolWhy is Toyota on the Nissan Z forum? Anyhow my lawnmower has more horsepower. Not sure it's even in same league.
I rowed through the gears stationary on the BRZ and it didn't seem bad to me. My current car wasn't notchy at all from the time I got it around 50k miles up to 150k miles, but I just changed the clutch and flywheel last week and now it feels slightly notchy all the time. I actually like it better than before though I assume it'll become less notchy with time again. If you get a chance to sit inside it, let us know what you think of the gear shifting. Will do. I was honestly surprised I could fit in a BRZ (I'm 6'6") when I had the opportunity to sit in one (auto show), it didn't have shift knob on it so couldn't get a proper feel for it.If you get a chance to sit inside it, let us know what you think of the gear shifting. I'd love one as a daily driver! I'm thinking maybe picking one up someday......The new 86 is a winner. Cool, cheap, and much better looking than previous gen. If I had the spare coin, I'd totally buy one just to toss around at auto x and such.
I'll take the Z and a warranty. We're also getting a BRZ one of these days but won't consider going that route until the warranty is up.I'll tell you boys what, a built bottom end 86 with a hiroshima spinny boi would probably give the new Z a run for it's money.
Any ideas as to total cost for something like that? My guess, $20k for a good shop. So you're looking at a Z fighting 86 for about the same price of what we're guessing the Performance spec Z will cost. Mighty tempting.
