It might not be too good for aerodynamics though ... and watch those low parking garage roofs. ;)
A buddy of mine who competes in triathlons carried his bikes like this. He destroyed two $4k+ bikes once by forgetting and pulling into his garage. He now has a rear mounted carrier.

I wonder what people are doing to stop stuff sliding around in the back. It's way more space than my MR2 and I made that work, but I'm pretty keen to not have surprise passengers on hard braking.
