You're going to love it....

i've done nearly 1k miles in my local area.
Two spirited drives in the back woods and many cruises on curvy but slow and local roads with loads of car and foot traffic.
(i recommend to really warm the car (oil, diff, trans), tires, exhaust and brakes real well before any spirited drive)

Love the car uniquely in both cases, enjoy and be safe!

In California, you're not supposed to tint the driver's or passenger's window, so I didn't. Just the hatch and the near-useless rear quarter windows.

Oh didn't know that. I think the factory glass is like 2-3% I figured you could do light on the sides at least . You can do 32% in NC but I only did like 40%

That's brutal. I thought there were only a few east coast states that don't allow tinting those.

This isn't the actual statute, but the CHP site gives a pretty good summary. Scroll down four or five questions into the FAQ.

https://www.chp.ca.gov/search/Pages/faqresults.aspx

The actual statute is much harder to read.

Did you have the door panels removed? That always seems like a dicey thing to do. You need a good shop to make sure the panels go back on well.

I love the way it's worded:
The law prohibits any person from driving any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows...
It's not illegal to tint the windows. It's illegal for the driver to drive a car that has tinted windows.

Here's a better look at the tint in the sunlight. 20% on hatch and rear quarters. Nothing doors or windshield.

Man, y'all got it rough over there. I am definitely breaking the law by running 20% all around, but I ain't too worried about it. Sounds like the cops near y'all are adamant about gettin ya for window tint lol. Looks good though :)

While putting together a poster for shows of our 2 blue Zs (see post above), I included photos of both taken while driving across Utah. (the 240Z in 1974 and the 2023 Z this June). Realized I had a photo of each car at the same scenic stop! 49 years apart!

Different angle, but note the profile of the cliff on the right side

In June, while driving US 50 from KC to N. California took this photo. (maping the latitude/longitude from this photo reveals this is the Black Dragon Canyon view point on I-70)
