Btw, not sure if this still applies but might be an option
The before/after sound really illustrates the delta.Btw, not sure if this still applies but might be an option
Man. We need to verify this. Good find.Btw, not sure if this still applies but might be an option
You can actually hear it shifting, instead of the engine / transmission sounds being masked. I was hoping not to have to cut (or remove a pin) from the harness. My dealer refused to do the software modification in Consult III.The before/after sound really illustrates the delta.
It would totally be nice to have someone push a couple of buttons however it is not hard to do a pin removal if we can verify the correct wire. In fact it’s probably easier than dealing with some dealerships. You can actually hear it shifting, instead of the engine / transmission sounds being masked. I feel like we could have a little ANC/ASE party in San Diego. Pay for 1-day subscription, split among everyone who shows up. Hook up everyone's car. Try the settings. That’s what she said!but I like it better than fake noise.
I'm new to the Z family but I think that is in reference to the known procedure for a 370z. It may be the same for ours, the amp has to get the signal somehow. That said, I haven't heard of anyone digging in and trying it on the current generation. Was talking to the robot, and it said there's a wire that electronically reads engine rpms for ASE, and it is plugged into the Bose amp. Looking into it further...
PSA if anyone here has an adobe subscription of any kind you can use online acrobat to analyze pdfs and ask questions about them. I uploaded the service manual and it said there are no diagrams showing for Bose amp. It could be wrong though, but good to know.
Exactly! Why would you want that?I was singing harmonies along with some music (former rock backup singer) in the car and I swear I could tell the system was trying to quiet my voice. It was weird. I could hear myself in my head as I was singing, but almost none of it was making it to my ears as ambient sound. It's like I was singing into a muffler. I have been in rooms that have a similar effect, so it could just be the car's natural interior acoustics, but it feels like something active.
I can't wait to get it turned off
I noticed the system trying to either harmonize or cancel the music bass notes that were matching the exhaust. It was weird. I want it gone.I'm new to the Z family but I think that is in reference to the known procedure for a 370z. It may be the same for ours, the amp has to get the signal somehow. Side note, I noticed something interesting with the noise cancelation. I was singing harmonies along with some music (former rock backup singer) in the car and I swear I could tell the system was trying to quiet my voice. It was weird. I could hear myself in my head as I was singing, but almost none of it was making it to my ears as ambient sound. It's like I was singing into a muffler. I can't wait to get it turned off.
Now that they're off, what do you think?Had the local dealer turn off ANC and ASE over the weekend. Normal charge is 1 hour labor but since I had to show the tech what to turn off, they didn't charge me. Just showed them the image from the Consult app.
Doesn't seem like a noticeable difference but that might be due to the Stillen competition exhaust. Just seems a little quieter at lower RPMs. Need it off anyway in order to replace the sub.Now that they're off, what do you think?
