Continuing to find half arsed hasty stock part reinstalls on my Carvana sourced '24 Z.

Previously: strut top bolts missing or loose... all of them. Eccentric suspension adjuster bolts hand tight. Exhaust hardware either mismatched or missing entirely, every hanger was missing at least one bolt. LDP nuts were loose or missing entirely, no gaskets on LDP flanges, O2s finger tight.

Newest find... changing the intakes and found I could just unbolt the mismatched hardware up top and pull both airboxes out. Yep, turbo mount worm clamps were just hanging, never tightened. Car runs great, but there is no way I wasn't getting unmetered air leaks. So another thing I am correcting as I add parts. At least it was easy to remove everything...

Found a Husky 12mm deep socket in the belly pan, tells me a lot of the skills and capabilities of the last guy in there.

Flipping the belly pan cover back is like Chistmas in July!

In my area I'm seeing a few slightly used Zs pop up for sale that still have mods.
Hot air intakes
Cold air intakes
Single exit exhaust

All under 6k miles.

Makes me wonder what happened.
I'm guessing the first monthly insurance bill 🤣
coupled with the impracticality of a 2 seater and either not living up to expectations or the newness of the expensive new toy wore off.

Not sure how much damage can be done in 6k miles, but I generally look for unmolested vehicles.

I just looked a three 2024 Zs. One had 6K miles, one 15K and one with 22K. I bought the 22K which was a CPO and in much better condition than the 15K. Just didn’t like the color on the low mileage car. If buying used definitely go with the best condition car which is not necessarily the lowest mileage car! Even then it’s used so you never know 100%.

"...I'm guessing the first monthly insurance bill" Ha! Indeed. That, and the "shiny, new toy" effect wore off, when they realized they had to actually make monthly payments for it, with a significant interest rate, due to a less than stellar credit rating. ;)

Seriously, the average I.Q. out on the road seems to have significantly dropped over the years. I'm sure way too many aren't all that bright about finances, either.

Now... get off my damn lawn! ;);) While you're at it, get off the damn roads, too! I want to enjoy my Z without some moron plowing into me.

New cars are truly the emotional and mid life crisis feel good therapy . Most folks dont realize until they married the car for some years what they got into literally and figuratively šŸ˜‚. Especially yellow colored cars!

Hey, I luv my yellow Z! I think it saved my ass a couple times because it's so hard to miss and I'm guilty of DWO* in a hellishly fast car with blind spots.
