The dealer I bought my Z from had four of them when I was there in February for my oil change.

Granted they were two nismos and two sports (both automatics) with nothing off MSRP so I can see why they weren't selling. Plus that dealer forces a $2,000 USD add on package to it. I honestly would have went elsewhere if my car wasn't the only Seiran Blue with Blue interior within a few hundred miles.

Just funny how the salesman pushed how they were one of the top Nissan dealers (in the state or country, can't remember which), and they had a large surplus of inventory.
haha, yeah a 2 str is not being moved quickly once the enthusiasts have made first pass at the dealerships which is good news for us.

Honestly I hate paying full price for such a depreciating asset such as a car, I much prefer picking up "dealer used" vehicles and getting what is essentially a new car with some km's/miles on the clock from a few test drives, I love buying them because they rip a bunch of cream off the top (the amount you lose when you drive it away after paying full price) so they can get an expensive paper weight out of the yard.

Every "dealer used" vehicle I've bought has still had the "vent spews" (little rubber hairs on new tyres) still on the tyres and I've paid 10-20k less on an 80-100k vehicle.

my local Nissan dealer still has the 2022 Z sport for sale and it's got 1500 kms on the clock and the price is at least 20k less. It's in near perfect condition. The 2024 Z NISMO they had for 11 months was shipped to a buyer in another state (probably cos it was in grey) and they paid full price plus shipping.

It should be noted that I'll blow an excessive amount of money on a Harley custom build ($100k+)

Not sure if this is some form of self-degradation, or me asking for mockery for some reason, but months ago when I got a set of Z1 wheels and had PS4S mounted...I cut every little nipple off of all of them. Granted, they had never been on a car, and I rolled them into my living room, which made the job simpler. Kind of like therapy. There's got to be at least one other person out there that does that...right?
I do it for the aero & fuel economy. Yeah, that sounds good. 😅

😂 Awesome. Now I'll have to look closer to see if any future purchases have had the "OCD vent spew removal" process done to the tyres 😅😉

Did you rebalance the tires after removal? 🤔

I'm not THAT particular. Usually.

For the one other guy out there that does this and is afraid to speak up:
1. Buy a cuticle remover tool.
2. Find your wife's current cuticle tool and replace it with the new one.
3. Pinch.
4. Pull.
5. Hit the base with the old tool.
6. Repeat 1,950 times.
*Steps 1 & 2 revised from the original instructions for obvious reasons.

Makes me remember the first Z I saw in a showroom. I was in the market actively and was shopping between the Z and Supra (was 2023, so MT was an option on both, which made me look at both.)

Dealer near me had a Z in stock, I went down to look at it. Not only was it auto (disqualifier for me), it was also hit with a $25,000 markup. Blew my mind. Needless to say I went and got a Supra for MSRP a month or two later.

I can't say I've ever done that before, but I don't find it odd. I typically leave them on as a subconscious reminder of "yeah that's new rubber."

Edit: How are the PS4S on the Z? I've used them on other cars before, but at this rate anything has to be an improvement over these S007's. I've only got the Nismo intakes and 1st and 2nd gear do not hook for me, and if its raining out, 3rd won't either.

I'm sure some LingLongs would even be an upgrade here.

1. There aren''t really that many on each tire, maybe 30-40. Still...

2. I got the tires/wheels for my 350, soon after decided to make a run for a new Z, traded in my 350 and they're still stacked in my garage. If I don't figure something out I/m either going to mount them on my new Z when the Dunlops die, or maybe get the tired moved to the new Z wheels. I did run PS4S on my 350. Never autocrossed or tracked it, but I really couldn't tell any difference between the PS4S and PSS, if that provides any context. Really close to Bridgestone S02 Pole Positions I had 20 years ago on my Track. Did autocross those and loved them. Wouldn't do Advan Sports again (edit: Bridgestone Potenza Sports). Not terrible, but you can get better tires for the price. Haven't had a ton of different tires, but never had a bad experience with Michelins.
Soon I'll know how well the Dunlops grab. 400 more miles 😭

3. If you're looking at a set of Linglongs, try Cosmo Mucho Machos. No clue where they sit in the heirarchy of tires, but they're...well...Mucho Macho!

Well I'll be damned. You learn something new every day. I was today years old when I realized Mucho Macho's exist.

Tempting, very tempting; but I think I will end up going with some PS4S' or if I decide to just pull the trigger on some 200TW, maybe the RE-71RS.

Although weirdly, I haven't seen any Sport Cup 2's reviewed against them by tire rack. All of the other 200TW contenders were there, but the Sport Cup 2's were noticeably absent.

The best handling tire on my s2000 back in the day was the super sport and will be my replacements for the z as well.

My supra came stock with the super sports; Great tire from what I could tell. Wasn't the PS4S the successor to it in some form?
Sports are different than super sports - like night and day. Super sports were developed for racing. Sports are street tires - good tire but not super sports.
