Has any body used the Amazon oil change kit for the new Z? It advertises genuine Nissan oil with a 65F0E filter.

Any thoughts. With prime its cheaper than Z1.

Thank you

Going to be doing an oil change on my 2024 Performance and got the kit from Z1 motorsports. The filter I got and the one they use in the youtube video is 15208-65F0E.

However I have seen some sites say that filter does not fit. Seen a couple other OEM part numbers out there too: 15200-BV80A, 15208-65F1B.

I assume this one I got is good to go (15208-65F0E) based on some digging but the VR30DDTT is not listed on the compatibility on the side of the box.
Anyone else use this filter?

* Warning don't use this filter! Or any other filter then the one listed.

People are giving very harmful information here by guessing and thinking they know better then the OEM. Yes there might by filters with more filtration medium however, these other filters not designed for the VR30 which has a variable oil pump and higher oil pressures. There is an internal bypass valve in the filter that will open at 15 PSI and provide no filtration according to the specs.

I pulled a 15208-65F1A off my car. This can handle 36 PSI of bypass pressure which is designed for our car that runs higher oil pressures.

Your dash displays your oil pressure. idle is 100 kpa (15 PSI) cruising is 200 kpa (~30) psi. So using those other oil filters people are linking your essentially running no oil filter. RIP

*Edit - found it on the Nissan parts website. 15208-65F1A, 15208-65F1B and now replaced by 15208-65F1E

I'm in agreement with you regarding oil filter part # choice, but one point of clarification is that the bypass valve works on differential pressure on either side of the filtering media, not engine oil pressure itself.

Not sure if you are trying to call me out here for spreading bad info or something because I did not. The whole reason this thread exists is because what got shipped to me didn't match what I saw when I took off the filter for my first oil change.

There has been lots of good discussion and discovery / research on the filters and their part numbers here if you read the whole thread.

That's not how oil filter bypass valves work, you don't get unfiltered oil if the pressure is above 15 PSI on the gauge,....

They bypass valve is on DIFFERENTIAL pressure. I.E if the pressure going into the filter is 15 (or 36) PSI greater than the pressure on the outlet side, it bypasses. This is so that's if your filter clogs up, you still get oil flow to the bearings, even if it's unfiltered. Dirty unfiltered oil is better than no oil pressure and instantly spun bearings. You also don't want it bypassing all the time because it basically opens the dirty contaminated side of the oil filter to the engine and can let contaminates on the filter media in from that side.

Does the Z have a 15 psi internal bypass valve? because if it does the 36 psi bypass filter doesn't make sense.

You probably aren't going to notice 15 psi vs 36 psi bypass but if the filter get dirty or it's cold and the thick oil causes the filter to bypass you're sending unfiltered oil and contaminates from the oil filter directly to your turbos and bearings.

I would follow the Infiniti bulletin here because it makes logical sense. The GTR filter should be perfectly safe also. The Z1 recommendations for thicker oil use this the 15psi bypass filter make zero logical sense and honestly makes me question their technical knowledge as a whole. A lower bypass is exactly the opposite of what you'd want with thicker oil.

Does anyone sell a resistor for the oil bypass solenoid yet? We should be able to plug one in just like the airbag/ hood popper delete kits and get rid of the code.

This is the OEM filter everyone should be using. The 65FOE and 9E01A are identical filters other than the 9E is longer with a larger capacity, and more filter media.
That's exactly what I said. There is a bypass value in the oil filter. If it detects oil pressure too high usually from the filter medium being clogged it opens to allow oil flow.

In our car the standard oil pressure because of a variable oil pump is above this threshold, so basically this could cause the valve to be open early allowing oil flow but providing no filtration.
Maybe not all the time as I previously stated but there is a higher spec for a reason.

Not calling anyone out. It was more targeted at Z1 for listing that part on their website. I actually bought it and then when I went to install it I noticed the different part number and did some research.

I think you are talking about a different thing. There is a solenoid In our engine that opens and closes to control oil pressure. It can lower oil pressure under certain conditions to help with mpg and emissions.

There is a problem that that it can fail in the open position I believe. This will mean you car will never hit oil pressure above ~30 PSI. This will be really bad if you go and track the car where the high oil pressure is needed.

You don't need to mod it IMO just monitor you oil pressure. It displays in sport mode on the dash.

The bypass value we are talking about in a passive device in the oil filter itself.

I was responding to two different things, I'm aware of the solenoid and wish to eliminate it, it's a dumb sword of damocles Nissan added for CAFE standards.

For the relief pressure I was responding to the post above that said if your oil pressure on the dash is above 15 psi the 15psi bypass filter will not be filtering your oil because it's bypassing, which is false. I still would follow the Infinity bulletin posted above though and use the higher bypass pressure filter though.

Apparently you can just unplug if and tune out the CEL.

You are correct I was slightly mislead with that statement. However if the increased oil pressure wasn't a problem they wouldn't have created a oil filter with high tolerance. The increased pressure is probably making the value see more of a difference then normal. Like it's clogged when it's not.
