OBDII bi-directional scanner - can control ANC/ASC

Run — don't walk — to Amazon and pick up a deal on the Autel Scanner MaxiCOM MK808S.

It talks to everything on the Z, including the Audio system, which is where ANC and ASC (the "pops and burbles" settings). I haven't turned mine off yet because running in SCCA Street class so I still have the stock subwoofer, but it was a very nice surprise.

ok, you all pushed me over the edge. Unit ordered. In the other related thread I mentioned my Foxwell 809 could see the ANC but couldn’t go deep enough to change the settings. In protest of dealerships charging for this I will do it for free for anyone in my area once I know I can do it. I’m in SE PA near Lancaster.

The point of the video is to help those who have access to an Autel scanner find the path to the setting, because it’s not obvious. It works. I’ve done it. Do you actually think I took the time make a video to mislead people?

You’re correct. I was just trying to get folks from after connecting to their Z to where they can make the changes. Minimal hand-holding. Minimum zest.

I'm really tempted to grab this. So it does drill down to enable/disable both ANC and ASE (ASC)? This specific model? MaxiCOM MK808S

Please forgive my ignorance, but how does the stock subwoofer influence the disabling of the ASE and ANC?

Generally those sounds are played through the stock sound system and since engine noises are low-frequency, the subwoofer is the main speaker used.

You can opt out of all that yourself without losing any infotainment functionality; I've done so with my Z and Jeeps. You submit the request online.

Just be aware my 2026 require another subscription on my autel to AutoOath for some gateway thing, worked fine after that
